Had Versed & something else, and it went well.

I had it in the office. The MD says he had to give me a heavy dose of drugs, though, and still couldn't get past the sigmoid colon due to twisting. I was very surprised, because the experience wasn't bad at all. I remember saying ow, ow, ow, but it seemed like very mild pain, and it honestly did not seem like they were doing anything inside my body. They seemed to be way back there behind me. Not upsetting at all. So next time I'll have to go to the hospital if they are ever going to get up my twisted colon. Maybe a pediatric scope ... But now I know for certain it's an anatomical problem and not some emotional cause. And during the prep you will suddenly think you can't do any more (when it's time to take the last four pills or whatever), but it doesn't get any worse, it just continues the process to completion, which is of course necessary. You can do it.

Had e EGD's and 1 colonoscopy with Demerol and Versed
Unfortunately, the Versed was worthless. I was awake the entire time during the colonoscopy. No pain but I chirped like a bird and chatted with the doc and asked all kinds of questions. He was quite blown away. Looking back it was really quite interesting to watch it on the little tv screen. I woke up during my first EGD and watched the scope go into my stomach. Pretty neat.
All of mine were Demerol & Versed, out like a light, quick recovery. No recollection of anything. :)
