This is a new diet supplement that comes from an African plant and is supposed to help you lose weight by killing food cravings. Has anyone out there tried it and have you had any success.

i tried hoodia
It did absolutely nothing for me but everyone's different.  It still could work for you.
Hoodia

It is my understanding that certain brands will put in less of the critical ingredient and more filler.  The more filler it has the less likely it will work.  I bought mine from GNC and it really does work.  The sales guy told me that it helps to drink a lot of water with it as well.

Hoodia

I started taking the Hoddia liquid extract last Saturday.  I take 1/4 tsp an hour before each meal.  It tastes awful, but can be taken with water.  Anyway, I weighed myself this morning, one week later, and I lost 3.2 pounds!  You have to drink a lot of water and try to exercise (I only exercised 1 day this week...and with the 4th, I had 2 BBQs and I ate 3 hamburgers this week).  I have had absolutely no side effects...no jitters, no headaches, no shakes...and it really does work...for me, at least.  You can get the extract at http://www.vitacost.com and it costs $10 plus shipping.

Good Luck!

Hoodia

I replied to another Hoodia question above, but wanted to let you know that Hoodia is working well for me, so far.  I am using the Hoodia liquid extract (http://www.vitacost.com for $10 + shipping) and I take 1/4 tsp an hour before each meal and I lost 3.2 lbs this past week, and that included two 4th of July BBQs and 3 hamburgers this week, and only 1 day of exercise!  Not bad.  I haven't had any side effects, either...no jitters, headaches, etc.  The extract tastes awful, but can be taken with water...and that's the key...drink a lot of water and try to exercise.

Good luck!

More Info About Hoodia

Hoodia is a plant in South Africa that tribesmen would use to help them not feel hungry during journeys through the desert.  This is a natural plant and they would eat the plant and it would keep them not feeling hungry or thirsty for a long length of time.  There is no ephedra in this because this is extract from the plant itself.  Hoodia is very, very expensive...like $300 for a very small amount (I forget the exact weight).  The liquid extract that I am using has 500 mg of Hoodia gordonii stem extract (20:1).  Other ingredients in this liquid extract are purified water, vegetable glycerin and potassium benzoate.  What I take is suitable for vegetarians and is hypoallergenic.  It does not contain any yeast, dairy, egg, gluten, corn, soy or wheat.  It contains no sugar, starch, salt or artifical color, flavor or fragrance.  The flavor is God awful, let me tell you.  I just put 2 dropperfuls under my tongue for a couple of minutes and then swish it with water and swallow.  I have only exercised once in the last week and a half and I'm losing weight.

I tried so many things to lose weight, you don't even want to know.  This is honestly the first thing I have ever tried that really works without making me feel jittery, shaky or have headaches or lightheadedness...honestly.  I was just saying that this works for me...so far.  I have really noticed a difference in the way I eat and I feel full very quickly.  After a bowel of oatmeal (130 calories)...I am stuffed for about 4-5 hours before I can even start thinking that I need to eat lunch...and I make myself eat lunch...I'm not even really that hungry.

Hope this info helps.
