clavicle fracture
Yep, I have, and add to that three broken fingers on the same arm that was affected with the fracture! Not fun but it can be done if it has to be!
3. CT scan showing an odontoid fracture at the base and also fracture of the posterior ALMA at C1-C2

I tried using a figure-8 clavicle collar once...sm
You can get them at the drug store probably. It just goes around your shoulders and crosses in the back to keep the shoulders back, used to keep clavicles aligned when fractured. But for some reason, it made me nauseous. I think the hunching just comes with the territory of being curved over a keyboard for hours and hours and hours a day...
fracture
Thanks for all your responses. You are a great bunch of people, and I sure did need the encouragment. Thankfully, I am "left footed" for my pedal and am keeping the other one propped up. Thank God I can work at home!
Need help with ortho term for PIP fracture

I'm working on an ortho eval for a patient with a PIP fracture.  Doctor has dictated an unfamiliar term (there's always that ONE WORD) for me.  He dictates, "X-ray examination today shows impaction at the base of the middle phalanx with approximately 70% joint surface involvement."  Here's the word I don't know (spelled phonetically--Sorry":  "A syphiant(??) portion of the joint surface is translated dorsally."

If someone could point me in the right direction for finding this word, I would really appreciate it!

Ortho term for PIP fracture
I see "significant." :)
Ghost crack maybe? Is he talking about a healed fracture?
.
Mine says Salter-Harris fracture type II
You must have an older version and mine cost $80 and came with the CD for BOS- and it's second-edition BOS
It is actually ghost track - area where a screw has once been for fixation of fracture.
