Sounds to me like you all are on the wrong type of accounts.  I have been working for years on accounts where I am given my alloted work and when I am done, I am done.  No sitting and typing 8 hours for me.  I have been fortunate to make a great line rate so that I make really good money in about 4-6 hours worth of work.  I have had offers from other companies in the past 6 months where they want me to 'punch a time clock' so to speak or work a certain shift.  I refuse to do this.  Guess that's why I will never do acute care.  I stick with the doctor office/clinic accounts and I tell them how many hours I want to work or hours I am willing to work.  I try to get the same dictators all the time so I can get good templates set up with lots of auto-text info, etc....  I can get a lot of work done in a short period of time and still make enough money.  There are plenty of companies out there who pay a good line rate and won't make you produce a certain amount of lines in a day or hours in a week.  I would go insane if I had to work that way.  With all that being said, I end up completing more than enough lines in a day/week to qualify for full-time and get benefits, but I am not REQUIRED to do it.  That really takes the pressure off.
