How VERY sad but PLEASE...

people, do NOT blame the dogs or the breed.  I do not believe any breed of dog is inherently "evil".  The responsibility rests with the humans who raised these dogs.

My thoughts are with you, OP, with your husband, and your remaining dog.  May you find comfort in this troubled time.
