| I am considering going from SE to IC, smPosted By: MQer on 2005-11-26In Reply to:

I currently work for MQ, but since there are so many changes I am considering going to work for a company as an IC.  I have never worked IC and know nothing about it.  I know, from talking to the CEO yesterday, that I will have to start invoicing.  I also know a big difference is taxes.  I am considering opening a special savings account to deposit estimated taxes, but am not sure what percentage would be appropriate.  I will also probably buy a new computer this year, along with reference materials.  Is all of this deductable?  Any information you can give me on becoming an IC would be most appreciated
