It depends a lot on how you are able to count your lines.  Gross I use Word.  Several I did use Syncount as you can set that up to count double characters for capitlization, underling, hard returns, etc. and then divided by whatever the line character was.  You also have to save in a different file, .rtf but not sure if new versions will now count in word.   I just find the simplest is the easiest and that is why the majority I use gross line at probably a cheaper cpl but it all works out in the end.
