I use an HP Pavilion for my PT job.

Sometimes I run it wireless and haven't lost VPN connection yet.  My battery runs out quick, though, so I keep it plugged in while I work, and I use a standard keyboard and mouse, but otherwise it works fine.  WAY Faster than my big ole desktop!

I have an HP pavilion dv4000
and love it!  it was replaced a couple weeks after I bought it with a new model number and my parents have that one-it's exactly the same except the model number.  it has a larger screen and comes with the most memory available on a laptop, which is the same as desktops.  this model was designed to replace the desktop so it will be no different than a desktop other than you can pick up and go anytime/anywhere with it.  I don't know how I lived without it!  I do have the docking station which raises the monitor to a better eye level for me and I can connect pedals, speakers, wireless keyboard, mouse and anything else under the sun I want to.  it's all small enough that if I want to take the docking station anywhere I just close the laptop, pile anything that's plugged in on top of it and away I go.  the keyboard on this model is a little wider than most laptops as is the screen, but the keyboard is still smaller than a normal keyboard so the wireless keyboard really helped me during the transition and now I can type the same on either (except for numbers-I still can't get used to the numbers across the top rather than the number pad).  I pondered getting a laptop for over a year being afraid that I wouldn't like it and now I could kick myself for waiting so long.
I love my hp pavilion and couldn't live without it.
next year when I upgrade it will also be another hp pavilion
