I would be kind to them, and polite. I couldn't agree with them or encourage their ideas.

In Reply to: Please answer the question. (nt) - You totally avoided it.

I don't hate them, but I know the true God. He says: You shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, and a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments."

I can't go along with a lie on that magnitude, but I can be kind to the person and show them love, hoping to interest them in the one who loves and has forgiven me.

    Couldn't agree with you more.
Yeah, I complain, too, but basically this is the best job I have ever had and I can't think of too many jobs where I would the freedom that I do now. I am most thankful for this job (even with all the junk that goes with it). Hope everybody has a good day!
    Couldn't agree with you more!
I agree with you 100% - Well put!
I couldn't agree with you more!!! (sm)
We better bust our butts while we can to prove ourselves against the looming competition, if you know what I mean.
Well said! I couldn't agree more! (nm)

I couldn't agree with you more.

I couldn't agree more. Lost my mom 13 years ago sm
this coming August. I miss her the most on Mother's Day.
I agree! My bill was $324.00 for gas heat. I couldn't believe my eyes! NM

couldn't agree more!!!! WHOO HOOO FOR THAT LADY
Exactly!!!!!!!  She sounds like a very antisocial person with some serious hang ups.  She needs religion!
I kind of have to agree here...

for years.  Some can do it and some can't, but it only takes a little practice.  If I were the OP I wouldn't limit myself because nine times out of ten, there will be at least one dictator that is considered an ESL or an American dictator that is a mumbler.

If for one minute MTs think that only clear dictators should be transcribed, well that's just wrong.  ESL is here to stay and always has been a part of this business.  I would suggest to reduce stress, the OP find a new career that is not so stressful.

    I kind of agree...
Old owner was annoyingly pushing conservative/ Christian and/ or Republican views, also, yet anti-offshore (liberal). If you were arguing a point she was against she would delete it or block you, etc. Very bigoted.
I kind of have to agree here.

raises in sight, so I have to work full-time instead of the part-time that I worked 12 years ago to make the income that I want to bring in.

The salary has really dropped.  I have not had a raise in 10 years for my IC work.  I cannot raise something that they will go and find a cheaper vendor.

I cannot as an IC compete with the larger nationals that offer the fancy equipment and the quickest turnaround ever (although they usually do not comply).

I'm kind of tending to agree with you
I was blissfully unaware of all of this and just thought the site was down for awhile, then yesterday I pieced it together and read both sides, and I think I am more apt to believe Sheri. But everyone has to make their own decision.
I hate outsourcing but I have to kind of agree
that while this does not apply to everybody, there are definately many 35 years old that act like they are about 10 including my husband who likes to throw temper tantrums for about just about everything.
    why can't you encourage
doesn't trying to help herself at this point count for anything, all i was asking is for some encouragement for the poor girl
I don't like to encourage about
this. Honestly, I don't even like to think about it. It grosses me out and makes me nauseous.
thanks hayseed!! i encourage everyone to contact sm
as much media as possible and get this well publicized.

here is a link to everyone who works in the firm that published this conference.

    http://www.cohenlaw.com/attorneys-name.html

and specifically here is the direct email to the man guy in the video who is vice president of the company....
    llebowitz@cohenlaw.com

i say we all BOMBARD them and shed as much light as possible to this company and employees for what they are doing.
I encourage you -- do not forfeit your CMT status!! (sm)
Since you worked diligently to attain your CMT status, please do not let your certification lapse. Your certification is important!!!

One never knows when it will become mandatory government requirement for hospitals/clinics, etc. that all MTs be certified to transcribe Medicare/Medicaid reports. Change is inevitable: Coding, utilization review, tumor registrar, etc. certification requirements is just an example.

I know how difficult it is for you to obtain the required CECs working 40+ hours, as well as "busy mom" duties, and paying the dues.

Now, that my children are grown, it is still difficult to attain the CECs, especially with increasing workload and taking care of grandchildren, and other household chores. I sometimes have to take a day off work just to attend continuing ed class(es).

I do not depend on my employer to assist with my dues, but it would be a wonderful gift of appreciation.

In my opinion, remaining a full-time employed CMT should be all that is required to retain certification, as I learn more on the job daily researcing new terms/medications than I do attending continuing ed classes. I plan to address this issue with the organization soon. Please contact the organization and voice your opinion concerning same.

    I am believing in you!!!

P.S. - with 15 years experience, I'd encourage you to go for it.
You might not get hired the first or second or even third time you apply, but as long as your experience matches up with what kind of work the company does, you certainly would have a decent shot.
    They encourage outsourcing, global economy.
    x
Are you IC or employee? Any IC work I've done, they encourage surpassing lines...
If you're an IC, I honestly don't think it matters to the MTSO which MT is putting out the lines, as long as TAT is met and the quality is there to back it up. I've cranked out 2500 lines per day with a commitment of 1400 per day and the extra effort was commended.

If you're an employee, however, and other employees who perhaps aren't as fast are complaining that you're 'hogging' all the work because of your speed, that could be another story. I've been in that situation but had a supervisor who staunchly defended me and said it wasn't exactly 'hogging' the work just because I was twice as fast as the other MTs, so the complaints ceased.

I just thought you were being polite
Don't let posts like that bother you. I hope others are helpful to you if you need to post for help again.
No different than calling an MT a pig. Not polite
    x
so you think polite should be banned as well? NM
    .
yes, they are pleasant and polite
as long as you do whatever they ask. Once you start saying "no" they'll become your worst nightmare to work for.
It's a semi polite way of telling someone to

    "F--- off".

Hmm, my earlier post, which was quite polite, is gone now.
We'll be having DEER STEAK kabobs for dinner tonight, though!!!!!   MMMMM, Bambi on a skewer dripping with BBQ sauce.
I stopped by the office and everyone was way too polite.
The part where she cut off the clinical diagnosis and then typed "love your chest report, great work!" on it was what sent me into a spin.
The 'unusual' in my post was that I was too polite.
I should have put it this way:

When to put a 'marker' and when to put a 'blank?'

This would not have been 'suspicious' to RUDE, OLD AND PARANOID MTs. PARANOID MTs.

Yeppers, it is polite if they do give you notice...
but it not legally required unless you have it contained in a contract somewhere.
That's alot more polite than grabbing the clock and
    ROFL !!!! ;D
sucking up? how is being polite in an email instead of being a jerk supervisor
    x
YES, I always like the polite ones. Even if they aren't the best dictators. Makes a difference
    .
Yes, sort of. He isn't fast, but he is very careful and complete and polite ...
which can save time in the long run, especially when I'm typing mammograms.
Go team is much more polite than "look here lickstick, do this crap or we lose the account"
    x
rude people? I would take good pay over polite people any day
Besides that they have never been rude to me and I have been here for almost 2 years. What do you consider a bad account?

I know my account is a little tough, but I am used to it. I am tough!
Couldn't you just ask if this is appropriate?

I just had one who couldn't
pronounce the simplest word, like catheter. He does cardiac caths all day every day, and can't even pronounce the simplest terms for his specialty! They shouldn't be able to graduate like that.
Saw my name and couldn't help myself here...

I'm among the 200-odd people who visit every day but don't wanna post because, well, it just doesn't seem right.  But, seeing as I saw my name in black and white up on the screen, I just couldn't stop my fingers from typing.

I wicked miss all the jibber jabber, work related and nonwork related.  I miss the usual faces, the usual arguments, the good times, the bad times, the times when I swore some people were on the rag...

I too got privately disciplined by the former MTStars staff for my potty mouth, got mean e-mails from people who called me a hick, and got awesome e-mails from some great people out there...and I miss it!  All of it!  The good, the bad, and the ugly.

We had our little domain name "stolen" a few years ago when we didn't renew it in a timely manner, so I kinda know what it's like.  Except ours wasn't a business, just a place where friends and family that we left behind could see what we were up to.  The web host kept all our hard work and wouldn't relinquish it because they claimed it was technically theirs...I'm not 100% sure, as I'm not the technical person of the household, but I know that basically we had to start from scratch.  You kinda feel violated in a weird way.

I'll keep checking for the "other" MTStars to see if it's back up and running, but for now I'll just hang out here and wait.  My personal stuff is all over cyberspace, so I'm not concerned about identity theft or anything like that.  Who in Sam Hain would want my life anyway?!

    you couldn't pay me enough.
I was offered a job managing an office that sent all the work to the Philippines. I couldn't bring myself to do it. The manager job from the other board (if that's the one you're referring to)sends their work to India. As tough as times are now, I could not bring myself to take jobs away from American MTs even if it meant a decent paying job for me. Still hoping Obama will tax the heck out of these companies that offshore, but not holding my breath.
I couldn't have written it better myself...
Those are exactly my thoughts. Didn't work for Spheris or Medquist, but did work for Heartland before MDI. I am so happy I came to MDI. I am sure they are not perfect, but I think they are better than a lot out there.
