It may depend on whether IC is all you've ever done. If you've worked enough quarters as a regular employee within a certain period of time, and if you can't find anything on your own in IC area, you can try to file. Of course, you have to agree to go on interviews for jobs commensurate with your experience, education, etc. Best of luck--who knows--you may have a whole new and good experience awaiting you!
