I like Accustat Carolinas but some do not
Not everyone fits everywhere, I'm treated just fine,,, In my opinion they have different accounts and I think it depends what they put you on... I love my account
Accustat Carolinas/ Accustat EMR
This company doesn't pay their MTs properly. Work at your own risk. See if they pay.
AccuStat EMR/carolinas is a great company!!
AccuStat EMR/Carolinas is a great company!! I can give you names of over 30 MTs besides my own that get paid with no problems!! They do not pay if work is late or of por quality but that is told to us before we start. If you did not get paid, your work must have been bad!! They do pay and they do not lie. Amazing when people get so upset with a company for not being paid...is usually the MTs fault!! This blog doesn't show that though.
MDI Florida, Medical INK, AccuStat Carolinas, Proveras, Sten-Tel, Focus,
and I think that is all. Maybe someone else can list others - these are the ones I know.

Good luck.
Agree - stay away from as-carolinas. No good! nm

Accustat has been good to me
Another MT called me and told me that people were talking bad about Accustat. I am aware of MANY MTs that are very happy with this company. Good work equals good pay, on time, every time!! I recommend them to anyone!!
True but to say there are no good MTs not true.

Two good things
Quitting the smokes and exercising.  You'll be a new woman!
Other good things to put in sm
I like to put in little cubes of cheese instead of shredded cheese. And I also add pepperoni and/or salami pieces (slices that have been quartered). Some people add cucumber, but I don't really like it in my pasta salad.
Other good things to add
My roommate and I made the Salad Supreme recipie but instead of Italian dressing we used ranch and I browned some frozen meatballs and cut those in half along with the green pepers and tomatoes and it turned out great!!!!
All Good Things
Wow! I have not thought about that way to transcribe in years. THOSE were the DAYS we got REAL LINE COUNTS!You are so lucky to find someone who still uses it. They are showing you that you are worth the money they pay you (unlike the platforms today).
You are welcome. Good things are just around the corner.

I have been where you are now.  It is not fun, it is very upsetting and frustrating, but things will come your way soon.  There are many accounts out there, you just need to find the right ones. All you need is one, and the rest will come by "word of mouth".

My advice is to just call and ask if they made a decision and if it is not you, then just thank them for their time and ask if it is okay if you check back with them periodically to see how things are going.

Good luck to you.

You mention some things you are not good at doing, but
try to think of something you may be good at. Not everyone on the outside is cruel and backstabbing. It sounds like you need to get out more and mingle. It is not healthy to spend hours in front of your computer and not interact with others except online. Do you have friends you socialize with? Sounds like the MT work at home is not going well for you. Don't give up on yourself. I hear your pain. Been there myself. It may be time for a new beginning. You are never too old for anything. Change your thoughts, and you will change your life.
HA - GOOD ONE - AND SO TRUE

I tell them that if it seems to be good to be true, it is.
I usually invite them to come to my house where I have a few sample recordings. I let them sit down and give it a try. We pretend they are earning .09/line and I let them go at it. Most don't make it through 30 minutes of an easy sample recording. And when we calculate that they've barely earned a dollar or two, they get the picture.
To good to be true
If it sounds to good to be true, it no doubt is. It could be due to the fact that many QA people get sick of QA and most don't get paid as good as MTs generally. It's a pretty dull job and I am sure you'll have to wear some pretty heavy duty armor. Your the cop on the beat so to speak.
Have always heard good things about X-Press
and have heard they pay really well
thanks!!! good website - learned new things

YAY!!! YAY!!! YAY!!! Good things happen to those who have the patience (I am not one of them)!!!

Good reasons to get more things worked out -
and in writing before accepting the job offer. I would work one weekend a month for average pay, two if the weekend pay was better. But not every weekend. Same goes for Friday nights. I prefer at-home to in-house environment-wise, but at-home pay is the pits, unless you're willing to work 16-hour days, 7 days a week, which is even worse than what you're doing now. I can't retire, either, even under the best of circumstances. But right now I'm having trouble just eating. I don't get paid 'til Friday, and my fridge has nothing in it except ice cubes.

Wonderful! So nice to hear good things like this!

Good things take time. (this is addressed to OP, BTW) My first 15 years or sm
so of MT was without the benefit of using an expander. When Expanders became the norm, I was reluctant to try, thinking that it would be more cumbersome than by not using it at all. Was I surprised and pleased I had ventured into the Expander world.

Since you're at home you can add entries on your free time, even if you do 5 or 10 at a time, when there is no pressure on you. Start out with expanders for "the patient," "-year-old," the names of your doctors, anything that is repetitious. You will be surprised how much time this will save you. My initial expander, PRD, actually calculated saved Keystrokes and productivity. Back then I was saving 30%!

The expander is especially helpful for those crazy terms that are hyphenated or have camel caps, those that I always had to look up to check myself. Create your brief form by just using straight lowercase, for instance, duoneb for Duo-Neb (or d-n).

Speed will come, don't worry. Good luck to you!

(Posted in the wrong place--I always do that!) This is in response to OP.

going on my 17th year of it and feeling good about things sm
still loving it just as much. I work for a hospital and they just sent us home to type so everything is new again, new system, new challenges. I need to be challenged or I become bored, so enjoy things at the moment.
saw it on monster-- "a too good to be true" job description-
for info and see what kind of a response I get. Don't want to send my resume unless it seems legit. I have 2 jobs now, just fishing for something better.
not true, I make good $$$ and manage to come

good girl Oh Carol !!! We know what true....sm

We KNOW what true loyalty and appreciation of great rock 'n roll is.  Too bad these negative posters probably like the blond shallow Britney Spears and/or Jessica and Ashley Simpson....*LOLOL*

If you pick a good school, not always true..sm
The 2-year minimum experience is often waived if you graduated from the right school. I would not choose any school in this day other than the AAMT-approved schools. Many local community college courses are adequate, but you need to ask up front if they help w/ job placement. The big bonus from choosing an AAMT-approved school is name recognition - this is VERY important, because if a company recognizes the school you graduated from and knows it produces quality graduates, you will be hired based on the school's reputation, and that's why many companies will waive experience requirements for those schools.

MTSOs know which schools turn out graduates that are ready to hit the ground running and which ones don't, so they will often pass up a graduate from the lesser schools, especially if they also have grads from the AAMT-approved schools applying at the same time. Since majority of MT jobs are now paid on production, education is becoming much more vital than it was 10-15 yrs ago when many MTs were trained on the job and paid hourly.

You said a mouthful! All so very true! Good post!

What I think is so sad is that people may give up good jobs to go there to find out these things all
to late. The newbies can learn and use MQ and move on which they do but of course the clients suffer then with all the people learning on them but this is what MQ causes and when they lose clients with poor quality or people that just throw out work then they caused their own problems. You cant keep good MTs with no work I dont care what incentives you offer because they mean nothing with no work ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. I wish people would understand that when MQ hires them.
I heard a lot of good things about them and am looking to purchase a laptop, so your information
is very helpful to me. Thank you!
True! Computer techs are all foreign. Used to be a good-
still have a tech job are usuallyh IC's, with no job security and no benefits. Lots of computer and microchip manufacturing jobs, that spawned the 'Silicon Valley' in California have gone offshore. Now even radiologists have to worry about their jobs, as some places send the x-rays digitally to Philippines to be read.

What I'd like to know is.... What exactly is going to be LEFT in the United States for US to do? Gas station attendant? Nope... most are self-serve, unless you live in Oregon. Wal-Mart Greeter? Hmm... not old enough (or retired enough) for that. Farm worker? Nope. Mexicans have cornered that market. Waitress? Nope. Lots of eat-in restaurants going belly-up these days. Typesetter? Nope. Newspapers are going extinct. Web designer? Nope. Most people can design their own nowadays. Retail? Same as the restaurants. Teacher? Whoa - talk about an underpaid profession! Nurse? Another underpaid one. Not a good choice for us work-at-home recluses. Truck driver? One of the few jobs where they need people, but to make ends meet these days you have to pretty much live in your truck. Flight attendant? Not a good choice for us recluses who hate to fly. Rap artist? Pretty saturated field. Hair stylist? I don't even comb my OWN hair most of the time, and haven't cut it in years. So I'd be pretty useless unless someone with long hair wanted a French braid. Chef or short-order cook? Not if you only cook TV dinners. (Does that count as cooking?) Dog-walker? Nah - I'm a cat-person. Bike-messenger? In my town, most of em don't live very long. You never see middle-aged bike messengers. Taxi-driver? Nope - the Sikhs have cornered that market. Executive secretary? (What? Go back to wearing heels and pantyhose? NEVER!)
Crazy question... does Express Scribe actually convert audio to text? Sounds too good to be true..

It does state this on their web site.  I was curious if anyone has used this option, and if so, does it really work?

Thanks again~

accustat
I have never heard of Cort Medical but I have been with AccuStat for 6 monhs now and I love it. The freedom they give is great and the pay is always on time. Tough choice. I would do both!!
AccuStat MT
AccuStat is indeed a great company....I have a LOT of people that will agree believe me...we have all been with them for a month to many years and we all love the company...maybe you were one of the fired ones..all the fired MTs write bad things...
ACCUSTAT EMR
Does anyone have info on this company (South Carolina).
Accustat
This company didn't pay me as well.  I guess they pay a lot of MTs well yet miss payments on a lot of other MTs.  I got another friend that they didn't pay as well.
Still with Accustat EMR?
Are you still with Accustat EMR? I am contemplating IC position with them.
AccuStat is awesome!!
They not only have great accounts but they care about their MTs. I love them and I think you are crazy to go anywhere else!!!
Accustat LLC does anyone work for them

nm
AccuStat Wisconsin
Does anyone know if they have clinic work? TIA!
accustat emr (carolina)
they don't pay properly. aside from the cheap pay. you might just waste your time and money.
Soft Script and Accustat

I am busting my hump trying to learn SS (I am a newbie with some experience but under a year) and I also am an IC for Accustat, now I have to really work for hours on end to try to get a line count for SS and on my Accustat its a nice account where I can have a line count with normal speed and hardly any ESL's

So basically here is my problem should I keep working for SS ( i have had no problems with pay, of course I don't make much of a line count) or should I just do my Accustat account and quit SS

Did I forget to mention I also have a day job....lol (My hope is to just MT and make some money someday)

SS takes out taxes and IC does not so I going to just go with SS but reading all of these posts makes me think just do my IC job for awhile and stop working three jobs busting my but
