In Reply to: Anyone homeschool their children and also work at home? - Need help

YOU are the best advocate for your child. You're doing the right thing - checking out all your options and going from there. It took me almost a year of checking out my options before I decided it was time to homeschool. Now, it's up at 3 a.m. every day to get to work before the kids get up. Gets to be some really, really long days, but sometimes there are no other options. Each situation is different, and each child is different. In order to get their funding, public schools generally focus on those students who will provide them with the most reimbursement and thus forget about those who have an insatiable desire to learn ... yes, even at a very young age. I fought our system here on a daily basis to try to get them to provide a challenge for their so-called "gifted" kids. Because of their inability or lack of desire to do so, I am now providing my children with the education they want and need. Please feel free to email me if you'd like to discuss it further.
