What is name of law firm

I lost my link to the firm darn it.

You know, not all MTs have gotten checks.

And last I talked to the attorney at the law firm putting together the class action suit for the MTs, they were no where near even getting the suit to a class action stage because it was going to have to be probably handled up in NJ!!!

So, yeah, I'd watch real close about cashing those checks.  It may be a "trick" on the part of MQ that releases them from their obligation to you for anything else.

You have to be firm
The schedule itself doesn't really matter, I don't think. I personally work 1 hour without interruptions and take a break, then another hour, etc.

I had my son's friend's mother tell (yes, TELL) me that her son was walking home with mine and she'd pick him up later. I could tell she was stressed and needed a break, but I said I was working and that didn't work for me. She still acted reluctant to change the plan. Finally, I said "Our motto is if I don't work, we don't eat". She immediately back off and came to pick up her son.
MQ using new recruiting firm. sm

Anyone else get a totally unsolicited letter from a recruiter?  The initial letter sounded wonderful, lots of promises, great bennies, etc., no company name.  When I wrote and asked for information, it turns out this person is recruiting for MQ and singing their praises.  When I said I would not work for MQ, as they offshore, her reply was:

"There are many companies who outsource overseas, I am curious how you found out which ones do and which don't.  I cannot think of any national who does not source overseas outside of MedQuist's new changing."

Personally, with all the lawsuits, MQ had no choice left but to change.  Cheating clients, cheating MTs, sending work offshore and the list goes on.  And this person thinks we are too dumb to figure all this out.  I mean, how in the world could any of us possibly know or be concerned about what MQ has done!  It's insulting.  The fact is, this person is ill-informed. There are many nationals who do not outsource offshore and who have taken an oath not to.  Also, many clients are writing clauses into their contracts that the work is not to be offshored.  MQ thinks we are a bunch of idiots. That has always been a big mistake on their part.

firm 15 cpl --you will lose it
Sorry but at 15 you will lose it.  Once you get used to the dictators you will easily make $35 to $45 per hour even counting in the delivery time.  Define your line as gross lines with 1" margins and if they want smaller ones, then you revert back and do your line count that way.  If you want to cover yourself, tell them that at 12 cpl you want it written up in the contract that should they cancel at anytime  -- unless it is due to gross errors, incorrect billing (cheating them), not keeping TAT, etc. that they  will pay your average paycheck for the term of the contract. Again look at what you can make per hour not what the cpl is.  If you come across too high, they will advertise and get someone for the 12 easily.   Good luck.   Get it all spelled out ini black and white.  Also go back at 12.5 -- again good luck
The problem is they are too big. No increasing needs to be done. I just need to firm them somehow!

Insurance Transcription Firm
I am with the largest insurance transcription firm in the U.S. -- we are always looking for great transcriptionists and have plenty of work....
They are a recruiting firm, but they represent some

of the same companies that post ads here.   They make it sound like they have a client base of all the MT companies, you apply with them and they match you with the company that best suits your needs, but they only represent a  few companies, and they may or may not be a good fit for you.  If you reject an offer with the company they refer you to you never hear from them again.   You don't get a better rate going through TM.

They are a legitimate though.

Looked at the info on law firm site and
it looks like all the platforms are involved in this. Anyone heard from the law firm as to what is going on at present with the class action and how long it takes to get the thing moved to NJ and in process?
We have to stand firm for the Americans of the future here!
When the trade agreement was signed with China, the imbalance of imports and exports was not suspected to occur since they have like a trillion residents. Did not happen as they had anticipated.

Think again of the cheap merchandise coming our way. It turns into garbage within two years most often since it isn't built to pass the test of time (unlike higher priced American and German products). So, the tons of imports turn into tons of landfill. Pollution is what is basically ends up being.

And yes, I do believe China will not stop until it is in a position to control the world economy.

I waited for coverage of the currency in China which they took off the world market. This will cause, or should cause, Wal-Mart prices to go up and allow other stores to continue competing (and providing jobs within this country) in the American market.

This is appalling.
Not company - it was a private firm's offer. nm
.
Idea for a new transcription service. We are looking for some ideas to firm things up. TIA. sm

Here is the basic structure:

All work kept in the United States.  Recent graduates of either a 2-year community college program or one of the better distance learning courses.

We are thinking of opening a combination office/training center.  Half will be recent grads.  Half will be seasoned MTs who like to mentor.

The seasoned MTs will get an hourly with a line incentive as there will be time taken away to be second ear for the newbies, more in the beginning, less as time goes on.

The newbies will have to be in-house at the company for one year on either 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift.

The newbies will receive either by the line or by the hour, have not decided.

What do you think would be a fair hourly for the new grad?  For the seasoned MT who will be transcribing their own work and mentoring.

We want to be generous without going bankrupt.

Do you all think the idea is a good one?

If you could work in house at a company with good benefits would you prefer that to working at home?

Just looking for some input.  It looks good to us, but outside opinions really can be eye-openers.

This is an established company, so there would be plenty of work.  All of our MTs are home-based now, but not sure if everyone really wants to be home-based.  We are near a major metropolitan area, so finding the MTs should not be a problem.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!
