Love my Ergohuman chair! I had a Herman Miller but did not care for it....sm

it was just not comfortable to me. I sold it and bought an Ergohuman and love it! It is less expensive too...about $600 I think. I do not use the arms though they are adjustable several ways, in and out and up and down. They are not detachable but you can push them out of the way. I bought mine on the web..several places sell them.

Herman Miller Chair
Thanks for the input! That name keeps popping up, so it must be one of the best. Of course, I have to sit in a chair before I'll buy one, but I think maybe one of my upstairs neighbors has one. Maybe he'll let me check it out.

Thanks again for your help!
herman miller chair
herman miller chair that I also love.  mine was the middle of the road.  I believe something like $630.  well worth it.
Herman Miller Aeron Chair
It is the best chair money can buy. I have had mine now for 3 years and have never experienced any kind of back pain. In fact, in the last 2 in-house positons I have had, I have taken my Aeron chair with me - and everyone is envious! It is a lot of money up front, but money well spent.
RE Herman Miller Aeron Chair below..
I looked up the Herman Miller Aeron chair on the internet to see what all the fuss was about after reading these posts. I noticed the chair looks a lot like the one I got from Office Max. I'm not sure what the name of mine is, but it is a VERY comfortable, fully adjustable chair. I've not seen anything like it. I paid $79 as it was on sale from about $139. I noticed that this Herman Miller is much, much more expensive.  Just thought some of you might like to check out Office Max's line. I love mine!
Nothing better than a Herman Miller Aeron Chair!!! nm

Herman Miller Mirra Chair help!
Looking into buying one of these and would like to know how good it really is!  Anyone out there with one who can help me?  Can the arms come off easily as never use them when working?  Do you need the loaded version with the tilt limiter? Any help would be appreciated.
Aeron chair by Herman Miller
Although it is pricey, I highly recommend the Aeron chair. I bought one a few years back when I was having back trouble and carpal tunnel issues from sitting and working 12-16 hours most every day. This chair really made a difference! It comes in different sizes for different people and will adjust practically any way you want it.

Prices will vary so do a web search for Aeron chair and look for the best price.
If one cannot afford the Herman Miller Aeron chair (wish), can someone recommend a less..sm
expensive chair that has most of the features?  I am primarily interested in neck/back support with the ability to adjust as needed.  I live in a fairly remote area and the only office equipment stores I have access to are Office Depot and Office Max.  I have one from Office Max but it was a cheap one and doesn't offer much.  I need to invest in a good one, but don't have the $900 for the Herman Miller.  So, if anyone has any suggestions, I would love your advice.  TIA!
Herman Miller

I got a Herman Miller chair about a year ago and at first didn't like it at all and thought it was extremely overrated and overpriced.  I couldn't get used to the lumbar support, kept taking it out and putting it back in again and anything else I could remove, etc.  I finally just left it in and adjusted it to where it should be and decided to sell it first chance I got.  Well... I still have it.  Now I love it!  From my experience, you need to use it for a while and get used to it.  I have no back problems or aches or pains at all and definitely have no intention of getting rid of it!  This is the only chair I expect to be using as long as I'm transcribing!

Herman Miller chairs
Thanks for your advice. Both replies to my email suggested this chair, and one of my neighbors did, as well. I guess I'll have to see if the neighbor will let me come over and sit in it for a while, so I can be sure. I can't afford ANY chair right now (now 'til my production improves, as all my accounts are new to me right now), but I figured in the meantime I'd start shopping around so I'd know what I want someday when I DO have some money.
I get to take 2 Herman Miller chairs to try!
No one in my neck of the woods sells these things, except for a place 200+ miles away.  This business supply place, however, regularly makes trips out my way to set up office furniture and said they have demo chairs they would be happy to let me test out for 2 weeks at no charge!  So, I have an Aeron and Mirra Chair here in my little office and I'll be putting in a full week's work on each one!  So, if you have wanted to try one of these chairs but not pay for it before making a decision, I HIGHLY recommend just asking if you can test drive a demo one for a week or two.  I honesly had no idea they did such a thing so I just thought I'd share the fact that it is possible!
Herman Miller Aeron Chairs
As a side note, for the tailbone pain, I bought a coccyx cushion and I don't have the pain whatsoever anymore. It's wonderful.
I too got a great new chair! An Ergohuman...sm
I have been looking for one that supports my neck and did some research and bought it. Today was my first day in it and I love it! I had a Herman Miller but I like this one better and it was considerably less expensive. My only complaint may be that the arms do not go low enough for me to feel comfortable with my arms resting on them while typing. I have never been able to do that, but think I would like too. This chair has a 10 position, 4 inch arm adjustment but I think I need 11 positions and 5 inches! Anyway it is a great chair!
That sure beats the $900+ I spent on my Aeron Miller chair ! - nm

Love my HM chair!
Got to the point when I could hardly get out of the chair after 12 hours of working, went and ordered me a new Areon HM and love it to death! I have been using this chair for 3 years now, still love it. The arms are easy to remove if you like. I have mine set low so I can type but that they they are still there..it is all personal preference really, but my back is not sore after the long days like it used to be and I can sit forever without needed to get up due to feeling sore from sitting.
I also have this chair and love it !!! nm

I got a chair at Office Max and I love it.
I only paid $89 as it was on sale, down from around $150. It sits wonderfully and adjusts to any position I want. Even the armrests adjust. I can positions throughout the day if I get uncomfortable with one position. I don't know the brand, I'd have to look on mine at home if you are interested.
I love to sit on my chair it is comfy.

I LOVE my Aeron chair!!!!
I've had mine for a little over a year and I really love it. It's SO comfortable and really helped my back pain. I think I paid a little over $900 for mine but it was worth every penny. I'm quite overweight and I really liked the fact that I could order it in the wider size and it fits my butt a lot better than most other chairs.
omigosh yes!!! I love my chair! sm
I bought my chair about 6 months ago or so.. My back was starting to bother me in my cheap $100 office chair. This Aeron chair is awesome! You can adjust it to what's comfortable for you. I will never use another chair. It is well worth the $500 to $1000 you spend. ebay is a great place to buy a used one, or even a new one for huge savings.
Me too! I'd love a new comfortable chair (nm)

Love my Steelcase Leap Chair (sm)
bought it on-line with free shipping. Went to a local office supply and got a written quote for their bottom dollar then faxed it to an online store and they knocked off another $100. Can't remember the exact name of store, but if you're interested let me know, and I will look it up. It is the most comfortable chair I've ever had; Neutral Posture and Aeron just didn't work for me.
I have problems with low back pain from an old injury and now I work without pain.
Love love love my chair
The arms can be lowered so they won't be in your way, I don't know about the tilt limiter. But I bought my off ebay about 6 years ago and can't do without it. No I do not think you can find another chair that even compares to the aeron, changed my working life completely, no sore back or butt. You won't regret it, but you will if you go for a cheap imitation.
I liked the way your looked and ordered the Ergohuman from the same line! Thanks! nm

Kinship care versus foster care/adoption
Having been placed in a position where I now have custody of my 3 YO granddaughter and going through the legal system, I sought an online network of relative caregivers for children. I would encourage you, especially since you are in Georgia, that if you take any children into foster care with the idea of adopting them, there is federal law that requires the state to take certain actions in a specific time frame. When a child is removed from it's bio parent(s), the state is required to investigate any possible relatives who can take the child before foster care is considered, but even before that, reunification with the parents is the priority. Once a child enters the system and is in the system for 15 out of any 22 months, the state is required to find permanent placement for the child.

The problem with this is that there are case workers who may favor a foster family and do not seek out relative care. I have a good friend in Georgia who had to fight all the way to the state level to get custody of her grandson after the child was placed from the hospital into a foster care home with the promise that the foster parents would be allowed to adopt. She has now adopted her grandson, but it was a long, hard battle to get the state to admit their own interests were placed above those of the child and/or family.

If you get a child placed through the state, please make certain there is not a relative who wants that child before you get your hopes up. The courts are now favoring return of children to relatives even after a child has spent years with a foster family who hoped to adopt them.

States get bonus federal funds by complying with the time lines and being able to close the case, so some states place children in foster care because it is easier than trying to locate relatives.

Didn't mean to go off on a tangent, but I can't imagine my sweet bella going to someone outside her family.
If it was a clinic, it might have been urgent care, but it was NOT acute care. sm
Acute care refers to work in an acute care setting, a hospital, doing at least History and Physicals, Discharge Summaries, Consultations, Surgery notes, Emergency Department notes, and much more, including GI procedures, Cardiology procedures, Neurological procedures, Pulmonary Function Studies.  It goes on and on and it means and acute care hospital setting, not a clinic.

love, love, love the show. hate american idol. this show is for real.
the only reason i entertained watching it was because of mark burnett and as usual he has such genious casting and editing. btw, don't know who anything about "metal" music but these performers make me like it. love marty and jd as performers. HATE JESSICA. susie is so nice and so emotional. it seems they all support each other and enjoy each others skills. regarding ty and bob marley, ty was excellent but he also lucked out on the song! bob marley was genious too and his music is very easy to listen to. i don't like 3/4 of what the others are given to sing but their performances make me love the music. dave navarro shines on this show, very gracious for the most part and letting the contestants down easy when they have to leave. he was great last night with brandon (?). sweet, sweet show. i am so impressed with everyone involved.
Yep that's it, 4000. Love, love love the zoom

I need a new chair!

I have had this chair for about 8 years.  I have to sit on pillows or else it feels like I am sitting on bare metal!   I am ready to buy a new one & would appreciate suggestions.

TIA

chair.

Herman Miller Aeron Chair, changed my LIFE!!!!  Can't say enough good about it.  The cost is high, but I felt I could justify it since I spend so much time sitting in it, check it out on ebay, lot cheaper, that is where I got mine.

chair
Am looking for a new one.  What kind do you have?
chair
When I was going to PT because of a MVA the theapist told me to allow the chair to support the back, not to sit like they used to make us sit straight and forward but sit back and allow the chair to support you. Also hold in your core muscles.  Once I have done this as well as having a chair that I can easily change up and down positions, I have not had a problem.  She said a pillow would not support the entire back and and thus put you off balance again and you then overcompensate for it.  So I sit completely back in my chair with my entire back being supported by the chair.  Also sit a little higher up.  Works for me and never have a back ache.  Also chair is not one of the most expensive models, $99 at Office Depot.  Though I do need a new one as it is 6 years old.   I work 8 to 10 hours per day in this chair.
chair help sm
Go to a site called "Nada Chair" it is not a chair but a device that pulls your spine forward by attaching a belt via a strap to your knees. My son is  a PT and one of his patients swears by it. Just check it out. Been there, it's painful, every little bit helps, also ask for a TENS unit. Good luck! I empathize!

my sister visited a chiropracter in atlanta and was told of an office chair called herman miller but is pricey. She has one and loves it so far. it is the best one out there of late. visit CSN-chair.com they have different types, but they sound like a dream! Thank you for your well wishes and hope you are doing okay too! I e-mailed you also
chair
Hi - I've had many various chairs over the past 10 years, and just found the perfect one for me for about $250.00.

It's the Unanimous model chair from the Hon company, part of their 7600 series -- specifically, the 7602 model is the best. It has a high back and adjustable everything -- seat depth, back height, arm width and height, etc...

I've spent lots of money on chairs and love this one!

Sites like NexTag do comparison pricing and show you where you can get the exact item you want at the best price.

Good luck!

I would try out some chairs at the office supply stores for good lumbar support. I also found that chairs with arm rests were very tiring as the arm rests got in the way of my elbows. I use a pillow to push me forward and also a Nada chair device. They have a website which explains how this work, pulls your spine forward by straps that go over your knees. It was a gift from a therapist. Works pretty well. Also, a microwaveable heating pad helps. Good luck, sometimes more than a chair is needed. It's painful, I know!
Best chair - sm
I have been working from home for many years, and over the years, I bought a new chair just about every 12 months, until this past year. I splurged and bought a Henry Miller Aeron chair, and it's wonderful. No more back pain, no more neck pain, no more shoulder pain. I wish I had saved all the money I spent on a chair every year and bought this one back then. They are expensive, but check online, you can find some good deals with free shipping, and sometimes no tax. The chair is well worth the investment if you can swing it. Hope this helps.
Chair
The chair in the link I am providing is by far the best chair I have ever owned.
Chair
I bought the chair in the link below and it has been the BEST chair I have ever used. I have major back problems (we're talking 2 back surgeries in the last 3 years) and I can sit in this chair with no problems at all. It has multiple functions for lumbar support, back support, and the arms can go up and down/in and out. I highly recommend it! Also, if you live anywhere near an Office Depot store, shipping is free. The closest Office Depot store to me is like 75 miles away and they still delivered it for free.
Good luck, I knew I had a really hard time finding something I liked for a long time too.
