Ditto .... Having been in this business 30 years (started when I was 17 years old) I have seen so much change especially in the last 10 years. Sad but true - it sucks now! Pay is so bad and working conditions through most national transcription companies is unsatisfactory due to their proprietary software that takes away from production! It's sad and depressing that when doing the most difficult ESL physicians, the pay is not very equitable. There was a time as an employee and a business owner all I was concerned about was the patient record - confidentiality, top quality work and meeting time frames. Now it's POLITICS, POLITICS, POLITICS!!!
However, I too will be going to school in January into a completely different field! Now that's refreshing! No unrealitic visions here - every occupation has it's good and bad.
