I also basically wanted to get into MT so I could work at home by myself all day.  I worked in different secretarial jobs, even a management job (which I ABSOLUTELY HATED), for probably 15 years.  My husband is in the Air Force, and upon our last move 5 years ago I decided that I wanted to find something to do AT HOME!  I decided on MT, went to MTEC for 18 months, have been working as an at-home MT for over 3 years now and loving every minute of it.  It does get stressful at times, but nothing like the stress I was feeling at some of my other jobs.  I made the right decision and have a nice career to show for it.  I'm not gonna get rich, but I don't care.  At this point in my life, being happy with what I do is much more important than making a lot of money.  I know that's easy for me to say, since many of you probably are single parents and having to support families, etc., but I've been extremely lucky that I don't have to worry about supporting my family.  I enjoy sitting at my computer all day long with my 2 dogs to keep me company, then when I'm finished I get all the personal interaction I want or need with my family and friends.

I'm so glad I read your posts... now I don't feel like such an unsociable person!! :)
