Serving Over 20,000 US Medical Transcriptionists

I love medical transcription. Being away from people was a huge, HUGE benefit for me. I worked as a waitress for 3 years before I got into this career. I used to love it and was a huge people person, a big sweetheart, but I noticed that my attitude towards people in general just went down.

In my line of work I had to be sooo pleasant get treated like crap with people pushing their dishes across the table at you cuz their toast wasn't toasted right..throwing french fries cuz they said they were "cold" and they just came out. I even managed to have a guy get up from the table, get in my face and start pointing saying what a joke the place was because I had taken out the wrong drink... I guess he didn't take in to account that there were only 2 waitresses there, no hostess, no dishwasher, and we were basically doing it all for a place at full capacity.

Then you get the lovely people that love to hit on you and make vulgar comments.

To be completly honest, I was never fake either. I would get really emotional when people would be ignorant, seriously. It was a stressful line of work, always understaffed, and when you are doing the best you can sometimes the only thing left to do is to break down when someones screaming in your face.

I just can't tolerate the rudeness that comes from everyone in the general public. It's digusting and very sad. What ever happened to the people who can just say, thank you, sorry, I understand.

I am 23 years old and I feel that I shouldn't be the way I am just because I was treated like dirt from people I didn't even know over something so NOT WORTH IT and something NOT MY FAULT.

I'm on to bigger and better things now, a lot happier, and very thankful I have found this great career.
