Fresh Salsa Recipe Too!
Here's the recipe for the salsa too...my husband begs me to make it every summer when the fresh tomatoes are in season. I love the flavor of the cilantro and lime juice. Yum!
FRESH SALSA
-12-14 LARGE ROMA TOMATOES
-ONE BUNCH FRESH CILANTRO
-ONE SMALL SWEET OR VIDALIA ONION (MORE OR LESS TO TASTE)
-ONE GREEN PEPPER
-2 CLOVES GARLIC
-JALAPENO PEPPER (START WITH A FEW THIN SLICES TILL DESIRED
TEMP.)
2 ˝ t. SALT
2 ˝ t. Lawry’s SEASON SALT
JUICE OF ˝ LIME (OPTIONAL)
IN A FOOD PROCESSOR, ADD CUT UP TOMATOES WITH A HANDFUL OF CILANTRO, PULSE TILL CHOPPED BUT NOT LIQUID. THIS WILL TAKE A FEW LOADS. POUR INTO LARGE BOWL.
ADD ONION, GARLIC AND GREEN PEPPER TO PROCESSOR. PULSE TILL FINELY CHOPPED. ADD TO BOWL.
ADD SEASONINGS AND MIX WELL.
LEAVE IN BOWL FOR ONE HOUR. MIX AGAIN AND TASTE TO SEE IF YOU NEED TO ADD ANY MORE HEAT OR SPICES.
KEEP IN FRIDGE (MUST BE KEPT COLD). USE WITHIN 5 DAYS. MAKES 2 TO 2 ˝ QUARTS.
Merengue is form of dance, like salsa
or cha cha. You'd be just as likely to dance to *rancheras* and *corridos* since, technically, merengue is a little more South American (namely Dominican Republic) as Tex-Mex. Nonetheless, it is all great spirited fun and I hope you have a good time. It is a wonderful tradition.

I do have kids. They can have pop and chips, but I try to avoid it.
And Iecture them on the value of healthy food. LOL My diet used to be horrible until it caught up with me with my last pregnancy. I was frequently hypoglycemic and had high blood sugar. Then I had two irregular EKGs before a surgery. I've basically been scared into becoming healthier.
Ice chips. Pepto Bismol should NOT be given because it contains
and also can cause Reye's syndrome in children. I agree with the spirite and crackers although it's best to not have bubbles...so open the drink and pour some over an ice cube and let it sit for a while. The stomach needs to settle down on its own, and if it doesn't, you need to call the doc and ask for suppositories so he won't get dehydrated.
After the stomach settles down, you can try the brat diet. Bananas, rice, applesauce and toast.

I'm having a homemade roast beef sub and chips for lunch.
DH can probably BBQ hot dogs and burgers for dinner because I don't feel like cooking.
Soy chips are great! More flavor than rice cakes. Pretzels are no fat. nm
