Yes I remember "cutting" stencils and mimeographs.  I could write shorthand very well, just could not read it back!  One day a coworker and I were mimeographing.  She had very long blonde beautiful hair.  She got too close to that drum and that machine snatched her head as I stool there in horror for a second, and reached over and cut the dang thing off.  I felt so sorry for her. She was of course in tears, and I stood there and freed what hair I could as she was still glued to that machine.  It took us forever to get her untangled, I am surprised she was not really hurt.  No, I would not want to go back either - I just think we had a better "education", learning things the hard way.
