My kids always say "oh my gosh another vacation" but like I tell them..

It's all about the vacations..put it this way.. I wanna live while I'm young..everyone waits until they are "retired" to travel..Well, trust me, by then, your tired and have health issues. We went with an older couple on our trip..substitute parents.. and this was their first cruise (third in a year for us haha) but first for them at retirement age..and I felt like they missed out on a lot because they tired easily, feet swelled up, legs cramps, irregular bowels..you name it..they had it.. So, I'm living NOW so by the time I am retired I've already seen and done it all. Live for today because tomorrow will be here soon enough and it might be too late..My friends tell me they want us to adopt them as my 8-year-old has been to Hawaii twice, Carribean, Bahmas, Disney World twice.. etc..hubby was a traveler when I married him and he got me addicted.

Bellagio..wow..we've never stayed there.. we stay at the Harrah's properties i.e. Paris, Flamingo, Ballys etc..cuz we get free room offers..Someday I'm gonna splurge and stay at the Bellagio. We go go to the Bellagio for their great buffet..

I wonder if we've talked before.. I met someone on here not to long ago that liked going to Vegas too..I bet it's me.. I think your hubby was a truck driver?? If so, sorry if I repeated my love of travel stuff..

When your dog "puts one of the kids in their place" and mauls face, will it still be "oh we
:+
Oh golly, take the kids on a vacation later. They need this vacation alone Sm

and there is not one thing on earth wrong about their taking it.

Gosh, I don't know how you do it with 3 kids home
On the losing steam after the first 1000 lines, maybe if (when school starts especially) if you do the first two-thirds of your work while they are gone then get a good break before they come home, time to relax, be with them when they crash through the door, get supper/homework done, and they get to bed - then you could finish your last 500 or 600 lines or so? That way you got a better break.

My gosh this is my story today except for kids...sm
and what I found and the lesson learned is they all lie... even the ones you thought would never, that you admired and trusted.   This is a cut throat biz.  Time to take care of yourself!!!  That is my motto...
Back from my vacation w/o the kids, for those

that want to know. The wedding was beautiful and perfect weather for it. St. Thomas and Tortola islands I highly recommend visiting, especially Sapphire Beach on St. Thomas and the baths of Virgin Gorda on Tortola. Gorgeous, breathtaking, absolutely stunning views, heaven. First 2 days I kept breaking down because the kids weren't there but then loosened up after I talked to them at our first stop. I have never eaten so much wonderful food in my life.

Kids survived w/o us and had a ball with grandma and grandpa and are already asking when we're going away again. Hard to say who had more fun, us or the kids, according to some of their stories. It was our first cruise and we're looking into booking a family cruise because it was just perfect. Having a hard time adjusting being home because I want my ocean view back...lol

"Oh, I could do that..." sm

OMG!! How do you respond when someone says this about your job? My neighbor just the other day said this when I told her what I do at home. We just moved into our house and she and I have talked a few times...Saturday night she said, "I know you work at home, but what exactly do you do"? I said, medical transcription...she said, oh, do you have to read the doc's handwriting and type it out...I said, no, they dictate and I transcribe what they are saying...HER REPLY: Oh, I could do that...! I didn't know what to say. I mean, she's a teacher, and I did not presume to say, oh, you spend all day with 20 6 year olds, I could do that...that just burns me up. I felt like saying to her, ok, let's go to my office and see how well you do...

I really need to know how to handle this sort of situation if it ever comes up again. I honestly did not know how to respond. I just said, yeah, well... I thought I liked her, but now I'm not so sure...

"Oh, Mom" every ten minutes

"Oh...you type. " Ya, I sure do! LOL...nm

We started the new spacing about 2 months ago. At first I said "oh no". sm
Our QA dept did tell us about the tip Ctrl + Shift + F, 2 spaces, tab, 1 space. I was really surprised how quickly my brain accepted the new one space after periods and colons. I still do the double check, but I'm finding very few doubles now.
Now who is whining, "oh poor baby you have to scroll"

Whine to somebody else.  MQ MTs who have been "taken" by this

company have no other option but to try to discussion and communicate

on such a web site.  Nobody at MQ will be honest.  And if you have to scroll

well so be it, you are in a far better situation than us MTs who are trying to

figure out how to get out of the hole MQ has put a lot of us in financially.  Most

people by the way don't have the ability to just up and switch jobs.  We have

bills, children, and it takes time to learn new accounts, new programs, buy new

things for new programs.  remember? or are you so independently wealthy that

these things don't affect you?

When a friend asks how you are today you reply "Oh, I'm feeling within normal limits."

OKAY! I need a vacation. Frank and fans of Frank/MQ who won the Hawaiian vacation?
Does anyone know?
Do little kids like caramel? My big kids won't even eat it! We make the basic Baker's chocolat
s
I never said you shouldn't have kids! Feeling guilty? I asked WHY you had kids.
You clearly stated in your post that you ship the kids off to camp all day, and they're TIRED AT NIGHT!!  You know exactly what you said.  You said it as a PERK - AS IN GREAT! They're gone all day, it wears them out, and so I shovel dinner in their mouths and off to bed!  You can try to paint it any way you want, but YOU SAID IT.  Again, I only hope your kids never hear you speak that way or write that way. Shame on you.  Why have kids at all?  Just another parent who has them, gets rid of them for day AND night, BRAGS ABOUT IT, and then calls ME wicked!  Give me a break!  Camp is fine - its WHAT YOU SAID AND YOU KNOW IT.  Your own words showed your heart. Period.
Kids are demanding and so is MT work. My question is how CAN you do this with kids, rather than how
When you have two young kids, 11 months apart, (like I stated they are now 4 and 5) and have been doing this since they were born with no help from their father and no family around, YES, the kids get neglected. Part time might work but living on one salary, part time, is not an option. How can you possible tell me that anyone with two young kids can stay at home and work a full-time, 8-hour shift, and still give their kids the attention they NEED. I dont care how good you are at multitasking and how great your organizational skills are. It is a very difficult thing to do. And I am offended by your post making it sound as if it is easy to do.

I do agree that it can depend on how well your kids behave and how well they are able to play on their own. But my kids were not able to play well on their own. They needed constant attention.

So please take the time to realize that there are people out there in different situations than your own.

Reading our posts should help you to understand that everyone has a different situation. I believe everyone should have the right to shares their experiences as it might benefit the original poster in her questions and concerns.

I dont think anyone should be bashed for taking the time out to write about their experiences. I dont usually come on here to argue but you really ticked me off with your post. And try reading the post correctly. I said next time around I would have put them in day care. What I DID do with them was set them up to an activity like art or put on a movie for them. Geez.
Stayed "because of the kids?" I say "leave because of the kids"
You're in no position to buy right now. Keep saving, keep paying down your bills, and for heaven's sake get rid of that dead weight of a BF you're living with. You can do better.
So, should I return the $75 (x2 kids) in music cards I got the kids for x-mas...sm
My son has been telling me about free music sites and I was very leary.  How do they skirt the law Radguy?
I don't have kids, but my Mom was from the "old school," and still had everyone, kids inclu

call her by her first name.  The little neighbor girl next door from the time she could speak called her Aggie (my mom's first name), and they were great buddies until the day my mom pased away.

I don't think there really is much in a name, but more in the respect you are given and the way you are treated.   Personally, I kind of cringe inside when someone calls me Ms. Anything or God forbid, "maam" (makes me feel like Methuselah!) ... I'm always just plain Merrie.  :-)

But, as someone pointed out, to each his own.  If you want to be addressed a certain way, you have that right, and people should respect that.  I'm glad you corrected the child ... hope it "sticks."

Please do not simply give up, kids or no kids!
Talk with a professional. This can be worked through if he really puts forth the effort and you participate. The right counseling can truly make your marriage even better than it was before, if BOTH parties are willing to be honest. Give it a try. Nothing to lose at this point and everything to gain!
OH MY GOSH!! sm
Unbelievable!  See what I mean about my experience versus your experience?  TransTech absolutely has the most knowledgeable and nicest techs I've ever worked with and believe me, I've worked with A LOT.
Gosh, is this about you? nm
~~
Oh gosh! May I ask.....
how you found that info out?  I hit their web site and it made no mention of anything off shore related.......  ID like to know how to find that stuff out on my own!
Gosh - thank you all so much! (sm)

I am very grateful to those who took the time to graciously answer my question.  I am now armed with information and dangerous!  Won't be getting this particular office to jump on board in the near future, though.  I just found out that they don't even have access to the internet.  Thanks again!  Loo

OH MY GOSH!

I sure hope you enjoy it as much as I do mine!!!  Make sure you can send it back if you are not 100% delighted!

Let me know how it goes.

oh my gosh, I had one just the other
day. It was a consult and was 98 minutes long, yes 98 minutes. Well after typing for 3 minutes I was "put on hold" and got to listen to crappy music. I did short forwards for a bit and then just went to the end of the 98 minutes and did a few backwards and, sure enough, it was all music; 3 minutes of typing and 95 minutes of crappy music!!
Oh my gosh ne!

I was just reading your thread about the C-phone and lost dictation and saw what you went through 2 years ago.  I just wanted to say that I'm so sorry.  I'm glad that you and your sons are okay.  I can't imagine going through what you are.

Although I know nothing about C-phone, work gets lost all the time and work can be reassigned, I'm sure.  Please don't be so hard on yourself.  Hang in there.

OH MY GOSH, THANK YOU
I really needed to hear that today. My job is so low paying and so thankless and I am very conscientious so even to get a thank you from a stranger is touching me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Oh my Gosh!!!
//
Oh my gosh, its not just me!! I used to
love to stop by MT chat about once a week, to browse all the great and informative posts, knowing I would never see the trolling and ego bashing that runs prevalent here.  I was SHOCKED to see just a few old timers over there now, just about blocking every poster who dared ask a question or make a comment.  Smashed!! I don't know where the usual mods are, but its very obvious and I am avoiding that place now like the plaque. Always expected more class and better behavior over there.  Guess I have to pay for mT daily?  So sad.
Oh my gosh; we get it already.

Oh my gosh...THANKS!!!

Gosh...I have so many...
But here are a few that really bug me most of all:

"...contemporaneously read by me..."

"Subsequently however."

"Otherwise again as well the patient had XYZ as well."

Let me not forget these beauties:
"has got"
"has also"
"was subsequently was"
"primarily secondary"

I guess if your doc can start every sentence with "at this moment" then I should let mine say "at this point here in the emergency room upon arrival..." lol
Oh my gosh, yes!!!!

Back in 1981 when I graduated from high school I went to the local technical school (now community college) and went to secretarial school.  Yes, they called us secretaries then.  When I graduated the program I got hired by the school in their word processing lab.  They had a word processing program that taught the different WP machines then - Wang, Dictaphone, Lanier, Radion.  Some of them had the big floppies, and those were the bomb.  The Radion still used the old tapes.  We got one of the new IBM word processing machines - can't remember the name - and boy, were we the schnitz!!!!!

I remember vividly a conversation I had with someone.  I told them that in 5 years those machines were going to be obsolete because of this new fangled invention called a personal computer that had just come out that could be programmed with different stuff, not just word processing.

Gosh no
I had enough of that all winter! I'm thankfully beginning to perk up, but we don't have snow here.... flowers blooming, 60-degree weather, fruit trees blooming. I will keep you all in my prayers and hope your mood gets better very soon. It is so hard to do this job and deal with depression!
Gosh, at what point will it be enough? sm
You'll have costs that go with that amount of work --- loss of energy, loss of family/friend time, actual wear and tear on your physical self, etc.

You need to decide what is enough and then live by it.

My opinion, anyway.
Gosh, I don't know but that was not the point

of this post.   Yes, I have had to deal with "customer service" reps at different times and usually they seem to have an Indian accent and, quite honestly, I will NOT waste my time trying to understand them.....If I have to take my time to just try to understand what they are saying I tell them straight out "I cannot understand a word you are saying and please let me speak to someone that has more command of the English language"......that usually does work!

And of course, it is very difficult for people to change their accents.  I would think that most Americans are able to understand most "accents" here in the U.S. including New Yorkers, Bostonians and even us good ole southerners!!!!  English, the last time I looked, was the official language of our country.  It is frustrating enough now a'days to have to stay on hold for up to 30 minutes for a service call but THEN to have to speak with someone you can't even understand is just ridiculous!  This is only common sense....think about it!  Changes must be made for the better and, believe, it will happen when the American people have had all they can take...and the time is soon!

Good gosh!
I love this platform as well, but NEVER EVER came close to your line count! That is absolutely insane! Please share what account(s) you work on and what office you work for.

PS - Do you or have you ever had carpal tunnel?!?!?!?!
Oh, my gosh! This is GREAT!!!...
I think I'm going to like this better than Sylcount!!!  It looks terrific!
Oh gosh, I have too - and beer. nm
x
gosh, who are you talking about?
sounds like a management problem. not greedy mt.
Gosh, you must be one of the greedy MTs

Oh, my gosh! That is too funny!

Great way to start off a Monday!

I have an ESL who takes the 's' out of effusion.  Took me forever to figure out what he was saying because "pleural" wasn't coming out very recognizable, either!   Gotta love this job!

Oh, my gosh. That is too funny. I
"my original words of wisdom about judging"
Gosh, you really should get some sleep
I always fear I will make an error when I am feverish and sleepy. I think the boss would understand. The symptoms will subside more quickly more likely if you get plenty of rest. Also, less chance of secondary bacterial infection in the lungs. You may want an antibiotic with strep. But, you be the judge.
Oh my gosh! You're right! sm
I had no trouble reading that post.  That's so funny!
oh gosh, that is definitely not the case
the terminology were very, very easy. That I can absolutely post and say with confidence. It was the way the doctor jumped around in his dictation and stating "put this here" "put that there" I didn't know what was a heading and what wasn't. His reports were 5 pages long. But the terminology was EASY. NO QUESTION about it.
Gosh, took me at LEAST 6 months
of 40+ hours a week to even start feeling mildly comfortable with the whole thing.  Even now, if I try to learn a new account, I get butterflies in my gut worried I'm gonna muck something up and tend to go a lot slower and double or even triple check everything....but that's just my personality about everything in my life in general.  I'm a freak like that ;-)
oh gosh. I would have had to step away for
hours probably..... I do ER reports and had 4 bad ones in a row earlier this week - makes me really count my blessings.  My toes curl typing procedures I have had or my children have had - I've never done an OP note such as you described... I don't think I could handle at all.
Oh my gosh, so funny
Although some of it was user error.  How many of us were screaming "upper case I" at the screen whenever he said capital I.  Too funny though.  The best part is the docs will not even check, they will just talk and let us try to figure out what they were trying to say.
Gosh, who was that directed at?
I had a child on Cobra before as a bridge between college and her getting a job- oh, 5 or 6 months, very expensive I remember. Who lost their husband? I gained bunch of weight when the thyroid went. Weight definitely can be health related.
Gosh, sorry to hear about....sm
your problem. I think mine may be different though. I can't block it, because it says my own email address is sending these things to me. If you put your cursor over the sent "from address" it has my own email address with my husband's name attached to my email....weirdest thing I've ever seen. I can only think that it's a virus, but my Norton hasn't caught anything. I don't know what to do, because I can't block my own email from coming into my mailbox, because I send reminders to myself all the time, and can't block my husband's name either.

Thanks for responding, though, I appreciate it (sorry about your hubby, though)
