My resolution is...

In Reply to: Any New Year's Resolutions???? - 2006 here I come!

My New Years resolution is to remember birthdays and anniversaries better. I've never been one to make a huge deal out of birthdays/anniversaries and I'm terrible at remembering when they are so my resolution is to change that. I set up a little system for myself so that I can remember ahead of time to send a card or gift depending on who it is so hopefully this will help me out. I can understand the weight resolution but since that's always my resolution I figured I'd try something different for a change.

All I want for new Year's is a brand new job.
resolution
The other day I was chatting with someone I have "known" for several years through a social chat room.  She asked me what I did for a living and I told her I was a medical transcriptionist. She said "what is that?" so I explained briefly.  She asked if I worked at home and I told her yes.  She replied that she had a daughter who was looking for work and she wondered if that would work for her.  Ok, maybe it's just me,  but I am really tired of ppl thinking they can do MT work because they want to work from home.  My resolution for 2009 is to not tell people that I work from home.  I realize this is ridiculous but I just get really frustrated at times.  How about you?
Temporary resolution
I scanned the SOAP sheet and can print it out (and it looks very good) and then use the sheets I have printed to print the first page of transcription on and the office is okay with this, at least for now. The MA will have to transfer the info from the original SOAP sheet header/template to the one I return with the transcription. I feel bad that I am causing the MAs more work but we all agreed that this seems to be the simplest way to go. It will actually save them money not having to purchase the sheets from the printing co. any longer at least. :) Money always talks, ya know. :D
My new year's resolution is to ... (s/m)
quit my crappy on-site transcription job, where I have worked for far too long and been treated like dirt for too many years, and take a job with a national so I can work at home and get a little peace & quiet.
Not resolution but appearance--this is what you need. sm
You don't want to full with the resolution of your computer as that is based on the type of video card inside your computer and you could end up having to reinstall your video software. I interpreted your message to mean that you had a smaller moonitor before you got the 19 inch one, so your icons, lettering, etc., are much smaller now that you went to the larger monitor, which will happen.

To fix this so you can work without straining your eyes, right click on your desktop, choose Properties, then choose Appearance. You will see Scheme and it may have Windows Standard or Windows Classic selected. You will need to select either Windows Standard Extra Large or Classic Extra Large for now--so you can work. Later, you can customize the settings exactly the way you want them for the icon bars, menu bars, text in your documents, etc. I hope this helps!
Changed the resolution....sm
I found a website that said to try increasing the resolution on the monitor. Since mine was at the highest available resolution already, I decided to go down in resolution....And so....voila....my desktop now fits on my whole monitor screen. However, now my resolution is less, and so everything is blurry.

So fixed the main problem, now another....but at least everything is on the screen now!!

why would the resolution change without someone changing it?

Could it be 'sacral high-resolution' ? - nm
.
I truly hope that you get some resolution to this. ((Hugs to you, my dear.))
xx
slide the little slider where it says screen resolution. sm
you may want to play with it to get the size you want. i have mine at 1280 by 1024 pixels.
Restore System or lower resolution did it for me sm
I got a new monitor that wouldn't work in Word so I set it to the old, smaller resolution and it works in Word just fine now. On another computer Restore System fixes absolutely everything, saves my life over and over again!
You could just enlarge all type in your monitor resolution. nm

mine is fine...sounds like a monitor resolution thing--
or perhaps, did you download an antivirus update or something. maybe your video card acting up?? just suggestions.
Screen Resolution/Font/Screen Percentage
My eyes are tired all the time. I usually have my monitor set at 800 x 600 pixels and use Bookman at 10 font in Word at 111% in the normal layout. What might be a better viewing screen setting to use?
