Good for you! I think it is a good idea to also get TSWB, it is a GREAT reference.

because someone I used to work for filed a complaint with the local police department and told them I was operating without a business license. She had no idea; she apparently just filed a complaint, hoping she was right. Of course, as I mentioned earlier, I didn't know about this law, so I, being the honest person that I am, procured the license when the complaint was filed. That was the first I had heard that MTs working from home have to have a business license.
Gotta brag: Just found out my son earned... (see message)
the Presidential Fitness Award for the third year in a row, and my daughter earned the National Award!
Help with "no operating system found" message sm
Laptop with Windows XP shows "no operating system found" - desktop working. Did this before and comes back with turning on and off, went into "setup" and shows I have so many MB stored on hard drive but cannot get system to boot, misplaced XP CD. This time I cannot get it to come back and depend on laptop at end of day to research, e-mail, etc., as desktop for too many hours is too painful. Any way to get the Windows XP to start up so I can do a system restore to an earlier time? Perhaps an update did this. It is "dead" but everything is still on there, lots of "good stuff" - a Dell so no one else will touch it and I can't get online with them as my other computer is not a Dell.

message re. "no operating system found"
No warranty- a client co. added some software to the XP which was very expensive, i.e., voice, lots of extras I used for over 2 years, "loaded" and it did this to me before but was able to get it back by unplugging, restarting several times. No one else will touch a "Dell" and that co. is closed.  After several "hundred" times I can only do an "F2" and it shows me there is a hard drive with several MB of stuff on there but won't load it, tried everything in the system - hate to lose all this "good" stuff. Is there any way I can transfer my XP from my desktop or run the laptop from my desktop somehow. I think if I could get a startup menu and choose a time to restore it to, like last month or something, I could use it and stop any further "updates" which really mess up things. Gosh, I loved my laptop as it is not "painful" to use and I do have such back pain at end of day, but then I am preaching to the choir about back pain and this job, aren't I? Hate to give up on it when I know there are some good programs on there. Sorry for the rant, I have let this "take over my life" trying to get it to work again. ***$#!**  Thank you!

Ooops, wrong!
What do you mean QA aren't on the front line and aren't responsible for TAT? Hello? What do you think the very last encounter is before a report is going to the hospital/client? A report w/QA markers and flagged? A STAT? QA definitely is very much a part of the delivery system of a report. If everyone did THEIR jobs and not focus on OTHER PEOPLE'S jobs, we'd all be a lot happier!
Ooops! Typo.
I did type it wrong on my original post.  It is Ctrl+Insert+Insert that I use.  I am out of it today...typical Monday blahs.   Thanks!

Oh, I found it really creepy when you said you found the flowers not so skillfully arranged on your
steps, and from your own flower bed.  That's what I was worried about, having gone thru some psycho kids myself with my pups.  Someone's been in your yard and in your garden and at your door without your knowledge.  Its just creepy to me, and I'd still be very, very careful.  Especially valid sounded the other MTs warning you about potential fake molestation charges.  You just NEVER know nowadays, and these people have already turned on you big time once. Luckily (though I don't believe in luck), you had it on film to save yourself and your puppy.  You might not be that lucky next time, and the whole thing just sounds very unstable to me right now.  I know you feel sorry for the little girl, but probably the only time I have ever made BAD decisions regarding my life is when I felt sorry for someone, particularly kids.  My son even has an evil kid in his life, but one who has a million reasons for sympathy, and I was saying how we should "be bigger" than the situation and invite this kid over to play.  Thankfully, I regained my sanity long enough to remember - ever time I have done something like that on a personal basis for someone just because I feel sorry for them AFTER horrible behavior, it has always been a disaster... Be kind, but you don't have to risk your family again. Be kind from a distance.  Its sorry she went thru this horrible experience, but YOU didn't cause it, and its not really your problem.  But it could be your problem if this kid acts out in your life.  Know what I mean?
Venting-why do people keep putting nm and THEN writing a message?? nm means no message - sm
Please put sm if you have a message and NM if there is no message other than your subject line.  It makes it easier when reading these messages.  thanks so much and have a nice day everyone.
I think I found it, found multiple recipes with the same
exact ingredients so I figure this must be it.
Ooops, sorry. My last post said "head head." I meant "her head." Sorry.

sm-see message, nm-no message, ks-I think it's someone's initials.

or no message, small message - whatever SM
any indication there is no need to waste time opening the post.

it is irritating also when people type through the subject line as well as the name line and then do not indicate if it is worth pursuing.

sm is see message not small message. I almost always
put NM or nt if there is no message, but quite a lot of people still open the posts as evidenced by the number of views.
What I have found ...
is that specialties are usually easier because they are a confined, defined, specific, and more narrow scope of medical terminology, etc. As well, you will not have as many dictators to learn in a specialty field.

The more broad/general the work you transcribe, the greater the base fund of knowledge you need for knowing the terminology, medications, tests, procedures, diagnoses, treatments, symptoms, etc.

Just my experience.
I found their ad.
I see in an old post that you work PT for them?  Are they hiring any PT at all right now?  Do they consider PT to be by hours or by lines?  I can go to their website, too, if you don't get back to this.  Thank you.
found it, thanks anyway...nm

I found it as gm in BOS
per BOS, so I guess take your pick.
I FOUND OUT
I work for a hospital, not for MQ, but we use their DQS program. What they do, is go in on DocQmanage and change up how they count the lines. They use a divisor that changes. They can count or not count whatever they want, and they do it! They are literally stealing from us.
Tri-Est - Found it!
It never fails - I searched for this multiple times yesterday and again this morning.  As soon as I posted it on the board, I found it.    Sorry to have bothered you all.
I FOUND THE JOB OF MY D~R~E~A~M~S

Dear Telecommuter:
If you are interested in working from home then we can help you land your next job from the comfort of your own home. What makes our telecommuting agency so different from all the other employment services is that we train our job seekers, place our job seekers with companies, market resumes online to companies nationwide and we also offer telecommuting job openings internally, which is apart of our services.

We do ask from our job seekers working from home to have a computer, internet, phone and office supplies. We have recruiters nationwide online actively recruiting for large and small companies. Our recruiters and sales team are required to search for companies that will hire telecommuters. In their presentations they explain the many benefits they receive by hiring a stay at home person. I'm proud to say that we are doing very well and have convinced many companies to hire telecommuters. I think eventually all companies will start to hire telecommuters. It's the way of the future!

We have access to hundreds and hundreds of Work AT Home Jobs available and we will give you all the information you need to apply for these legitimate positions.

We have helped thousands of people find real legitimate work at home and we can help YOU too. We have over 8 years combined telecommuting (work at home) experience, and we are dedicated to helping you find work at home that you enjoy and can make a good living at. THAT IS JUST WANT I HAVE FOUND
out from a nice person who emailed me with some very helpful information. Looks like that is my first task, to have some dictation of my ownm some nice Americans and ESL physicians to use in classes.....Should not be too hard to do....I have acess to a hospital.....I was under the impression that since I purchased the programs and each had the company label on them, crediting them with ownership, I would be in the clear. Guess not.
Found it. Thanks.

I found it used for $100..
You can look on Mtdaily.com under classifieds or post a wanted ad. It very rarely sells on ebay.

I use it and love it too. Took me a month to be real efficient with it though.
Found it! 6.0...

I just went to my first one and I found myself....

I was dressed nice, it was held indoors/outdoors at the botanical gardens in the city where I live, but I really believe I was underdressed......not fancied up enough.

Oh well, it was my first one EVER, and was for my friend's eldest, and I went, and it was fun and nice; a lot of dancing mainly.  All women were in skirts or dresses.......no slacks or fancy trousers.......

The men, on the other hand, and the boys, were dressed far more casually than the girls/women.  Jeans and nice shirts were what most men and boys were wearing....very neat and clean, but I found that odd too, that the women/girls were FAR more dressed up.

We gave $$.....*S*

I think I found something

From what I can tell, we are considered "commissioned" workers and there are rules as to how OT can be applied.  What do you think?
