Could it be Gemzar? I just typed that last night. nm
..
Doctors pronounce incorrectly, especially when they are unfamiliar. It is Gemzar, I agree.

That would have been the first red flag! LOL
Obviously, the MTSO has had problems in the past then.
flag it

One red flag...
...to me was the benefit package described in the ad. Despite saying that they are "the new kid on the block", the benefits are those seen with (or even better than those of) large, established companies. Most new small companies cannot float such benefit packages unless:

a. They are a unit of or affiliated with another larger company of some sort - which we would certainly want to know.

b. They are a company that has reorganized and managed to hang onto their benefit package - which we would again want to know.

One ad is titled "A New Beginning", suggesting possibility "b" above. If so, it is very important to know which "old" company is being reincarnated as "Jax".

And, I hate to say it as it seems somewhat superficial, but even the name of the company raised my eyebrows.

Even if Jax proves legit, though, it serves now as a perfect example of how easy it would be to harvest resumes from people.
Yep, I would flag it

without a couple of sources of confirmation.  Docs cannot spell, though they think they can.  Sometimes I will find several Google entries with the same spelling, but they still turn out to be the wrong spelling.

This is my favorite med site:

http://www.accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/cder/drugsatfda/index.cfm?fuseaction=Search.Search_Drug_Name

If you can hear any 3 consecutive letters (like the LOL or the ROL) you can search and it will give you anything that contains this combination,  generics on the right, brands on the left.  If you click on the name it will take you to another screen for dosages (sometimes.)

That's a definite red flag...

By all means, if you can, find a vet that'll get you in as an emergency.  If your regular vet doesn't see patients on an emergency basis, honestly, it's time to find another one.  I have 3 cats & 2 birds, & if I had a vet who wouldn't take one of my "kids" STAT, I'd be going somewhere else.

In the meantime, please give her ((((BIG HUGS)))) & lots of kisses from me & my "kids".  BTW, what's her name?  I'll keep her in my prayers

It is a red flag to me, seeing one co. over and over. Would not inquire..nm

you cannot even erect a USA FLAG....sm

saw a story last year when a Boynton Beach homeowner with a condo association put up the American Flag.....and did battle with the association and HE lost the battle.....and either had to move or never put up an American flag....on his property in the ground with a pole.

I flag. I don't correct this because as the others said, you don't know. nm
v
Always flag/blank something so odd it is likely
x
I would still flag it - he said twice daily not

If AHDI had a CMT flag, I would definitely
.
Flag it. Verbatim or not, you do not
knowingly put in wrong info.
That was her - raised a red flag for me too - I wish I had said something at the time nm

I smell a rat. If it were me, I would consider this the first red flag and be on the lookout

I would definitely flag it and if you are able to put a note somewhere just ask the doctor to sm
review/revise the area in question.
I took it more as a flag because it's uncommon in dictation..
not that there was a debate of whether to transcribe it or not. I personally haven't ever had a dictator mention praying with the patient, although, I have had one of my personal physicians mention that he hadnt seen me in church lately :D
location: worldwide (red flag!)
compensation: $50 (red flag!), is it per page, per hour, per day... as i understand it, craig's list is to sell items to local parties. It is not where i would look for, or respond to a job from.
if any doubt (at all!) leave it out (flag it).

think it might be diltiazem. Gonna flag it to be safe. Tx. NM

That only tells the grammar checker to flag spaces. Word does not auto space.

Why does everyone assume that
the MT is on the board during working hours. And even if they aren't, why must we make it our business??
Please don't assume
I type basic 4 plus radiology and have done clinic as well. I am very well-rounded and a CMT.
please don't assume
I didn't mean to offend anyone by my comment - I apologize if I did.

Am I to assume......

that you left your husband or the other way around?

Why assume that because you don't others
I consistently produce 2500-3000 lines a day on the account I currently work on and have been on this account for a little over a year. A lot of factors go into line count, i.e. good docs, platform, etc.

Never assume!
Don't assume
that your previous employer would not take you back! Sure, they could tell you they aren't interested. Then again, you are already trained on their platform and know how they operate. It's only been 2 weeks since you have been gone. They may have an opening for you in another account. Who knows? The person who replaced you may be having a hard time catching on. They may LOVE to have you back! Please don't sell yourself short. You have a much larger advantage than anyone else who may call them for an MT position. If you don't call them, you will never know, right? Be honest with them. Tell them you made a mistake - no big deal - we all make decisions we regret. I think most employers would respect the honesty.

I think you should go for it! Let us know how it goes - I'm pulling for you!
so am I to assume
There is no way to do this?
why do you assume everyone

blames India? I don't think too many of the posts on this board complain that Indians are taking our jobs. I think they're complaining that MTSO's are outsourcing our work. Perhaps the joy we take is not in India's distress but in the MTSO's who sent the work there.

Don't make accusations pretending to know what others are thinking and dumping your "better than thou" attitude on others.

From the sounds of your post, you just like to stir the pot.

I assume that the (sm)
hospital already has a digital system in place for other report types that you have not been transcribing?  If they are now using .wav files for your doctors' dictation and they can route those to an MT company who then sends them to their MTs, then they should be able to route those voice files to you.  You might want to use the Google search box above and search digital and .wav file.  There may be older posts that will help you better understand how this works and what you need in order to keep your doctors.  But, you can always just tell them, "I can transcribe digital files as well.  I was transcribing from your tapes because you were dictating onto tapes.  Now that you are going digital, I can go digital as well."  See what their response is.  Do not let technology stop you.  You just need to do some quick research, get yourself up to date, and present your solution to them.  I hope everything works out for you.
No don't assume

Don't assume that MTSOs have Expanders all set up for you.  Most leave you to do that on your own.  They may have some inserts but in my experience most of the inserts are just for ops and procedures.

Dee

No I would not assume anything - sm
I have only worked for 1 company that had normals/templates. It all depends on their platform, if they even have one that is. I know where I am now does not have a big profit margin (supposedly). I get .07 and .08 depending on the account, I believe they are getting .10 or .12 just from comments I have heard from the MTSO. Supposedly she barely break even which I find hard to believe of course, what would be the point if the MTs make more than you do. Sounds like my MTSO makes maybe 2 to 4 cents on the accounts then has to pay the overhead costs, FTP, TASP, etc. and doesn't end up with much, but again I find that a bit hard to swallow. Who knows for sure.
It's because they assume males in
any predominantly female occupation are gay. Beautician, florist, nurse, secretary, bank teller, MT. Maybe people think all females in male dominated occupations are "butch"?? LOL What do you think of when you see a woman construction worker? A. Gay. B. Not pulling her weight. C. Overpaid fluff job for EEO purposes.
You really shouldn't assume anything
about people you don't know. I am not overweight at all. I eat well and exercise regularly, but I don't condemn other people for eating what they like. It's very rude of you to call me overweight. You don't even know me.
MTE: *LOL* - let these posters assume....sm

When someone assumes something they make an A_ _ out of themselves.  LOTS of companies are using DQS/DEP today.  Some of these posters making such blanket statements are just *totally out to lunch*   and perhaps should find a different field  (if they are so miserable).  Les Miserables....hence, I'd *consider the source*.

again - how on earth could you assume that I could not do your job with the same
education and training.  Who is bashing?
why do you assume I don't care?
You just have waaayyy too much time on your hands to keep attention focused on Y-O-U! I won't share my life or my views. They aren't your concern, nor is my attitude about my profession - as opposed to your _job_.
I assume they mean last year
I would think they would say March of this year if it was this year, but you never know!
Why must posters always assume that we are
not experienced when we ask a question? All I wanted to know is where are these positions advertised, or do they always promote from within. Believe me, I'm educated and experienced.
Can I assume that you're
being paid that for one minute of a voice file? So if the file was 10 minutes you'd make $11.15?

If that's the case, then that sounds like a good deal. Like everything in this game though, it really does depend on speed.

Good luck with it.

Why do you assume she is the dishonest one???
Tell me why you think she is the dishonest one -- unless you are posting for the present board.
I would assume it all to be true....SM
especially considering the fact that the moderator chose to simply remove the information than contest it in any way.
When you assume you are usually wrong, as
you are here.
Actually, no, MT with 9 years experience. So, I can only assume

not organized, or just dawdling.  Who knows, but it is frustrating.

Who do people assume all male MTs are gay?
Its not like we're BEAUTICIANS or FLORISTS or something! This really frosts my butt!
you say it's wrong to assume male MTs are gay
but then you say, "Its not like we're BEAUTICIANS or FLORISTS or something!"

So we should assume you grow all of your own food? sm
Do you grow all of your own food, raise your own cattle and chickens, and raise your own sheep, which you then shave yourself and use the wool to make your own clothing? Because even if you're walking to the store, you're still supporting gas-driven machinery. How do you think all of those supplies get to the store? On the back of someone's bicycle?
Why do you assume every post is directed . . .

to you or in reference to your posts????  Sorry, but the world and this board don't revolve around you.  Get real.

I agree, people will assume because it's been
just like everything else...you have to look at the fine print. Even cigarettes, which will kill you...only tell you that in teeny little print. Every commercial for some gimmick to lose weight only tells you it really doesn't work way down in teen, tiny print.
I just bought it, I assume it will be slower but (sm)
I will probably be having carpal tunnel surgery in a month or two, and I figure it's better than not working at all (hopefully).
