QA does not like to be challenged.

I am not the original poster but I have also challenged QA with sample reports administered from the company, and the QA basically said I had "old" samples.  So I get blamed for making errors but QA dings me because I am following a supposed sample report they give me and I'm supposed to know that it is an old report?  Then I ask for samples for another format and QA sends me reports that I have typed from a couple of months ago and states "I give these same samples to all of my new MT's."  Well I'm glad to know that my work has now been used as "the sample" of choice.... LOL  and I SCORE - 2 points!  QA is just unbelievable.  It is pretty bad when you are with a company for less than 6 months and you know more about the account specifics than the so-called QA people do.  I have to be nice to QA because they are just trying to do their job as well but sometimes it does get a little ridiculous.  QA is supposed to be helpful not hurtful.  JMO.  Live and learn is what I say.

    well, right now i'm *challenged*
So until i'm paid on salary to do all the extras that go with the awful dictation lately, like becoming an interpreter, i'll take the easy way any day.  Disenchanted by the field as of late.  Used to love it.
    Technically Challenged
I just had to reply.  I'm technically challenged too.  Nice to know I'm not all alone in my technically challenged world.   I do agree with the other post -- it depends.  Check with the person on the other end. Good luck.

I really am a throw back in time.  Help!  I am trying to test for a company, I can get the test file downloaded through FTP to windows media player, but how do I get the foot pedal to work with it and transcribe in word.  Dumb, Dumb, Dumb I know.

    re below technically challenged
Okay everyone of you tech savvy people - I downloaded express scribe, but what do I do now?  I can down load the FTP file, but it still just goes to windows media player and the pedal does not work.  The pedal does work for the welcome to express scribe message.  I need to be able to transcribe it in Word.  I tried selecting "load," but that does not seem to work either. I'm doomed!!
    hmm...feeling challenged here LOL

Can Someone Help This Electronically Challenged Boomer?

I was looking on the job board a few weeks ago and decided to check out one of the jobs and they had a list of what you needed to work for them. Talk about being out in left field! I have worked for TL/MQ since the 80's and everything as far as a computer has always been fixed for us so we don't have to do anything but type. I had no clue what they were talking about ...

They said you have to have a sound card - doesn't that come with a computer?

You have to have a game port for a 15-pin foot pedal? I have no clue what a game port is and don't know anything about foot pedals. *deep sigh*

I don't know what a Windows XP Pro Service pack 1 or newer is - I just know I have Windows XP on my computer.

I sent a resume to a company (sounded like a nice and easy job) and they sent me an email with attachments. One had some kind of audio files on it - didn't know how to get them, another had some kind of test where I was supposed to fill in the blanks - again, clueless how to get that test to where I could type on it. Needless to say, I thanked them for looking at my resume and knew I had to find these things out.

    Can someone please help me????

I am sooo computer challenged. Please can you help? sm
I am trying to test for a company that sent me the test via e-mail attachment.  The test file had to be unzipped which I did using Winzip.  But now, I have no idea how to get it to play.  What am I supposed to do now to get me sound card to play it.  I feel sooo dumb, but I've just never had to go through all these hoops.  I've always just been able to click and listen.  Ugh.
