Question RE wavpedal ???

This may sound like a silly question, but I have a footpedal connected to my computer now, working for a company.  If I bought just Wavpedal software and loaded it, would I just be able to use the footpedal I have now or is there a 'special' type of footpedal it needs???  Cannot find any info regarding this.

Can I use a Wavpedal on the DocQScribe platform?

Any suggestions on wavpedals?  Any good or bad experiences would be helpful.  TIA
wavpedal?

I'm looking into a few jobs, but they require "wav pedal" for wav files or dss files.  Exactly what is the wav pedal?  I've looked them up on line and I'm a little confused.  I have a foot pedal that plugs into a USB port on my computer.  Do I need special software to be able to transcribe wav or dss files?  Is my foot pedal compatible with wav or dss files?  How do I find this out?

In the past, I've always been an employee with equipment provided, so I really don't know anything about foot pedals.  Any help on this would be appreciated.  Thanks!

WavPedal
I use a WavPedal that you can find at transcriptiongear.com or dictran.com but if I'm not mistaken a WavPedal can mean a foot pedal that hooks up to your computer for the purpose of "listening" through your "hearing device" i.e. ear buds, headphones, etc. It should be able to receive all types of "wave" files or audio files via the computer or other audio device. I hope this was not too confusing.
I have always used my "WavPedal" for every doc I worked for as it is compatible to just about any transcription program used.
Does anybody use WAVpedal?
This has been the a pure week of heck .. I am so stinking stressed out... Last monday my pc puked on me.. so, I went & bought me a new pc.. got home my work programs are NOT compatible with Vista.. uggh.. of course all the stinking pcs in the stores had vista on them.. so called a computer store here locally, they told me they could put XP on a computer for me.. so, we bought computer #2.. Used to tapes - WavPedal - help!

Hello everybody!

I was a medical Transcriptionist in the late 1990's.  I had my own service for about four years.  All tapes at that time, of course.

Now that my kids are older, I want to get back into transcription.  I don't know anything about the new digital process and I want to learn more about how it all works.

I've never worked (or played) with any type of audio files at all, so I'm completely new to the whole thing.  I don't even download music.

I was able to get a WavPedal 5, with software.  I just don't know what to do with it.

I was hoping that someone could point me to a site where I could download a basic audio file of some sort so I could play around with the system, and/or something that explains how all of this works.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Nancy

There is wavPedal software that

http://www.medword.com/MedwordStore/TPC/WAVpedal.html

You can use the pedal without the software to listen through your listenting device - the software just organizes your wav files in one place if that is what your transcription files will be downloaded in.

Is there a quick way to get WavPedal software? I have a new computer and the foot pedal, but...sm

no software.  A company is asking for it to test.
