Root Canals...sm

Anyone care to share any experiences they may have had with these? I need a root canal and I'm terrified of dentists! Unfortunately, it's a front tooth, so I have no choice but to have it done. Just wondering what to expect.

Root Canals
I have had four root canals, all done by an endodontist. No pain with any of them. It is not a bad experience. I had to pay for one myself just recently and it was $1400. The crown, of course, was not included and will probably be done by your general dentist.
I have had two root canals in the past
I do not like the dentist either, but they had to be done. The most painful part was the needle in the beginning. One thing I would let your dentist know is that you are afraid. It's ok to tell them that, and they can take extra steps to try and make you comfortable.

Didn't feel a thing, honest. I was scared of dentists too, but found a good one, and I'm not anymore - of course, if he retires, I'm back to square one. 
A blank is what I would put. Root (nerve root) is all that comes to mind.

Don't care at all since the Cards lost, but I'll root for the White Sox.
