Golden Retriever! Love my golden! nm
x
I have a Golden Retriever that needs her walk every day, sometimes
twice a day. I walk 2 miles daily and go to the gym at least 3x a week. No big butt here, although I have noticed things shift as we get a little older. I am 39 and my boobs shift to my armpits (LOL) Any exercises for them?

A 3yo yellow lab and a 2yo golden retriever. sm
Believe me, they keep me busy! The yellow lab is a freak about his rubber ball - has to have it with him every second or he goes crazy. The golden retriever is still very much a baby but is getting better. Both of these breeds are considered a "puppy" until they 3yo, so I'm patiently biding my time til they leave the puppy stage. I love them to death, tho, and can't imagine life w/o them. The lab is the absolute best dog I've ever had. Great with the kids, good protectors.
Chance - golden retriever
Banshi - siamese kitten who passed away :(
Yup - 80 lb golden retriever loves to lay right at my feet. sm
She also likes to lay right at my chair, so when I roll it, I am always on her tail or something. She drives me crazy too. She has to be everywhere I am. Love her to death tho! Don't want to be without her.

Anyone out there own a Chesapeake Bay Retriever?
I have an 8-month old 'pup'.  I say that in quotes because Nitro is bigger than my 5 and 10-year old Labs.  I know that Labs are h*** for the first 2 years then calm down to be great dogs.  Will Nitro be the same?  He is absolutely the most bull headed dog I have ever had.  Took him to obedience class and he graduated (how, I don't know), but he seems to have his own agenda and it depends on whether he feels like listening.  I work from home, but if I leave he gets so excited when I come home that one time he jumped straight up and took my sunglasses right off my face, but his body never touched me.  However, I have young grandchildren and he is soooo gentle with them and protective.  He gets plenty of exercise.  We have 5 acres and a large  pond and he will swim for literally an hour straight.  He has great genes - father is Amer. and Canadian champ and mother is Amer. champ, certified obedience, certified companion dog and certified rescue dog.  I love this dog. He is the smartest dog I have ever had - learns quick.  I would just like to know if someone has an older Chessie and what I could expect in the future.
Nitro - Chesapeake Bay Retriever
2 Labs - Maggie and Samantha - our dogs own the house - we just pay the mortgage!
Our Golden used to be that way sm
I found that if I ignored the storm and went about my daily routine, he calmed down. Also, if you have the tv on with the all the weather announcements that go beep, beep, beep, trying putting the tv on mute. I found the noise with those announcements drove him nuts. He's much better if he doesn't hear that constant beep, beep, beep. We also took him outside to see the sky, play in the rain, etc. It worked. He's no longer afraid. Lots of petting worked, too. Good luck!

Golden Isles Transcription - sm

Question for anyone who has been with them long enough to form an opinion!  How is work availability and pay scale?  Do they offer vacation time?  If not, do they allow you to take a week off (unpaid) for vacation.  How flexible is scheduling? How are the QA people?  I have checked the archives and cannot find a whole lot.  Maybe a fairly new company? TIA!

Don't get hung up with the golden handcuffs. (SM)

It is so easy to convince yourself you cannot make as much money at a different company  or on a different account, or never find anything better, so you stay where you are, taking all the abuse in the world.  In management, this is called the Golden Handcuff, and they rely on it to keep the same employees, never give a raise, never give respect, and just continue to walk all over you.

In this profession you are very mobile if you can transcribe at all.  It may take a month to get used to a new system, a new account, or whatever, but your self respect is worth it in the end.  There are a lot of companies out there that actually do appreciate employees, and it certainly does not seem to be any of the companies who are mentioned frequently on these boards.

I changed jobs about a month ago, thought I would never learn, but in a week I was making far more with a small MTSO than I ever did with a large company.  Treat yourself to a new beginning and a new year.

Can anybody tell me anything good or bad about Golden Isles Transcription.  They have an opening for oncology account.  Thinking about jumping out of the Medquist boat.  Anybody?

When you teach your child about the Golden

My Golden does that same exact thing every evening at the
exact same time, 9:30 p.m. This usually happens after she is finished eating. We leave her bowl down 24/7 and she eats whenever she is hungry, so food never became an issue. She tends to eat mostly in the evening around 9 PM and she gets energy spurts right after. How funny is that!

She is 4 years old and still plenty active. She is my best buddy though. Awesome breed, would never want any other.

Labs and retrievers must have exercise every day. We walk for at least 30 minutes with at least 15 minutes of free run for her in an open field.

Love my Golden!

Golden cuffs! sounds kinky or more like
socialism again.  Why doesn't the owner have a right to profit from his/her/their investiment?  This isn't a debate about what profit is acceptable and what isn't.    As another poster said, it isn't YOUR money on the line.  I bet you would B&M no what what job you did, who you did it for or what standards (or lack of standards) you would be held to or not wish to be held to.  You either get it or you don't.  This issue isn't confined to the MT business...which brings a question to mind...if you feel you are being mistreated, you must like it because you don't seem to be getting out of it!  I firmly believe in capitalism...what can I say, I'm a fan of Ben Franklin!
Everyone wanted me to wait, I just couldn't. We do have another dog, a golden, but he is my hubby's
dog. Just not quite the same. I like lap dogs and he weighs in at 120 pounds, too big for my lap. The two dogs get along great. The golden loves the fact that he now has someone to play with, as my other one was much too old to do anything but eat, sleep and potty, all in that order. There was quite a bit of adjustment, but it has worked out great.
When I was little I thought it was a giant golden potato chip- sm
we even called it that every year...don't remember how that got started though, funny now.
Thinking of applying at Golden Isles Medical Transcription..sm
Would someone with some inside information please email me?  I would like to know some particulars about this company before I think of applying for a job.  Would be interested in their platform, the type of accounts, their line rate, whether they require weekend work, and anything else you would care to share!  Thank you.
