james is the more dangerous over maggie and sara. i think i would have put up maggie and james.
anyway howie is great fun and doesn't take this too seriously and very loyal to kaysar. besides, if kaysar was smarter than howie, he wouldn't be voted out.
I love the name Maggie for a dog. Just one of

Anyone try heated socks?

I have alot of trouble with arthritis and stiffness in my ankles probably from years of pressing a foot pedal and was thinking of trying battery operated heated socks, like they sell for hunters, fishermen, etc.  Just wondered if anyone else has ever tried them and how they work.  My poor feet hurt so bad tonight, I wish I had a pair here now.

Probably staining the new fence we put up to keep our dogs in and other dogs out.
The neighbor dog won't stop trying to attack our dogs, so we put up a nice big fence. Should do the trick. Doesn't keep the rabbits out, though. We'll BBQ, too. Can't go far. Hubby is on call for the weekend with his job.javascript:editor_insertHTML('text','');

Official policy puts it best . . .
from the 2002 AAMT Book of Style:

"Obscenities, profanities, and vulgarities do not belong in a patient's record unless they are part of direct quotations that are essential to a report."

In 20+ years of transcribing, mostly psychiatry, with, as one might imagine, a lot of profanity, I've always just typed whatever the clinician quoted the patient as saying, and have never had a complaint.

Good luck,

End of story...
But don't you now put RHIT on your resume since that's the current official title? sm
I earned my RRA, but in the time since I earned it the AHIMA has changed the title to RHIA, so that is what is on my resume.
Ditto this. I'm the family's official "deviled egg queen" for every holiday.
I always make them the day before and Saran Wrap them into my special crystal egg platter, but any plastic or glass dish will do.  How many days until Thanksgiving now?  LOL
kitty
So glad he is okay. Had a similar episode with Stuart a kitty we adopted in July. He had cold-like symptoms and weighed less than 1 pound. Took atbc, Lysine and eye drops and is now fine. Hope you have the same results.

not sure what heppened - validated email and my post did not appear - anyway - kittens and cats are susceptable to blood disorders, tragic but true - I am an avid cat lover, kitty blood from my grams in me - keep us posted - OK?

Possible Solution For Kitty
I have a female cat who does the same thing. She tries to use her box and never attempts to do her business anywhere else in the house. She just has a little problem determining her positioning in the box. I have a big roll of 33-gallon plastic garbage bags and use these under the box. If Miss Kitty misses and pees over the edge, I just remove the plastic garbage bag and dispose of it and put a new one down. These cats are trying to do the right thing, but they just have a little trouble...LOL. Also, I agree that a bigger, uncovered box might be a good idea for your big boy. Good luck!
Big kitty troubles...
I also have a big kitty though not quite as big as yours. He does not quite seem to get his rear in to do his number two business either and it always ends up on the floor in front of the box. I have a regular size litter box and my mother has said they come in larger sizes and has suggested trying this. I plan to purchase one ASAP! He never goes on the floor and is very clean otherwise.

To the other poster who suggested just throw him outside, to some that would be like throwing a family member out of the house; I could never even consider that. There are other options and I know my kitty does not do this on purpose, he just needs an adjustment made to meet his particular needs. Good luck in finding what works for you and your big furry friend!
Sorry about your kitty, glad he's better. (SM)
I have 2 cats. When they were kittens they sat in my lap together, then they switched to the monitor. One of them still dominates the monitor and is hovering like Snoopy in Vulture Mode right now! I could not venture a guess how much cat hair must be in there! Anyway, it is one of the reasons I will try to stay working at home - KITTIES!

LOL I can relate. I have a naughty little kitty, too.
The house can be so quiet during the day with the kids and husband all gone. Then kitty decides it's time to play. He likes to try to get my Betta fish out of the bowl. He pounces on my dogs to get them to chase him around and around the house. He tries to claw the walls, furniture or carpet. He rubs against me and wants to be held. He jumps up on my keyboard or lap. He can't play with his toys. Oh, no! He's got to bug me. Sometimes, he's so frustratingly attention seeking that I have to stick him in "his" room until I'm done working. He used to sleep in a cubby hole on my desk when he was a tiny kitty. Now, he's so big that he knocks things over. The worst one was when he jumped up on my desk and knocked over a vase full of flowers and water. Crack, splash! All over everything.
Did anybody else see this poor kitty picture?

Copy and paste, you will be amazed and sad at the same time.

Your kitty is a beauty! Enjoyed your

blog.  Like the others, it made me appreciate what I have so much.  Your "little corner of the world" where you work looks so much like mine.  I, too, have my bird feeders and bird bath to look out at.  I also have two kitties who are my "co-workers".  Tip (angel in Thai), my ?-percent Siamese kitty is sleeping right next to my keyboard right now.  Taz (yes, a little black and white devil) stepped away for a while.  Sometimes I get so mad and hate transcription, but we really have to count our blessings.  Working in the comfort and safety of our home with our animal pals and family close by is worth its weight in gold!!! Thanks for bringing a smile to my face, MTBlab.

MissouriMT - could we have a kitty update?
I posted below, not sure if you saw it though.
My kitty is sick and I don't know anything about cats.

He's about 3 or 4 months old.  He is a very playful kitty.  Usually attacking my ankles or feet when I work, attacking the dog's tail, etc.  A couple of days ago he just wasn't himself.  Laying around, not playful at all.  Yesterday and last night, he threw up three times, and today he basically laid in the same spot all day long sleeping and barely moving.  I'm not sure when was the last time he used the litter box.  I took him to the vet and they are keeping him overnight.  They indicated he was pretty sick because he didn't resist having his blood taken or being poked on and he didn't try to groom himself after they were done.  We haven't had him long.  We adopted from the animal shelter.  He was the only survivor of his litter and the momma cat was killed by a car.

I am really bummed for my kids.  We just lost our cat and dog this past winter in a house fire and I just don't know how my kids are going to react if something is wrong with our new kitty.

My kitty drinks out of the toliet as well!
This is my first cat so I'm new to all of this, having dogs all my life. I bet your cat will come back home. My mother's cat goes off all the time and comes back weeks later.
cord biting kitty
I have a cat who has chewed through my foot pedal cord, and I had to go to the store and buy a cored protector to put over the original cord.  I have black electrical tape on most of all my other computer-related cords.  Finally, I purchased some stuff at the pet store called Indoor Bitter End.  I cut the power to everything and carefully sprayed it on all my cords, obviously avoiding exposed wires, plugs, and outlets.  I can say that she hasn't chewed on any of them since I sprayed them!  I type in the basement and know that sometimes it's impossible to confine a cat or kitten and since they have a short attention span are not easily trainable.  Maybe this will help.
My vet told me kitty has to be over 3 pounds--sm
before it can be spade, but since most kitties don't get adopted as soon as they are 6 weeks old, I think that is just a standard on the SPCA site you visited. I waited until my little girl kittie was 6 months old before I had her spade. If the SPCA is specifying six weeks after adoption, it is probably because they are offering some kind of discount if it is done by then.
My kitty likes to sneak under my chair.
He'll brush the tip of his tail every so softly on my leg so I think it's a bug or something.  When I smack at it, he rubs under my hand for pets.  Little weirdo.  He likes to lick my toes, too.  Icky sandpaper tongue.  LOL
Is she ever precious! Looks like she's the deli owner's kitty.
I was hoping she had a home and it looks like she does!
That is such good news, I am sooooo happy for you and Tom Kitty

English may not be the official language on the federal level, but it is the NATIONAL language. sm
From Wikipedia:

Although the United States has no official language at the federal level, English is the national language.

In 2003, about 215 million, or 82 percent of the population aged five years and older, spoke only English at home. Spanish, spoken by over 10 percent of the population at home, is the second most common language and the most widely taught foreign language.[139][140] Immigrants seeking naturalization must know English. Some Americans advocate making English the country's official language, as it is in at least twenty-eight states.[141] Both Hawaiian and English are official languages in Hawaii by state law.[142] Several insular territories also grant official recognition to their native languages, along with English: Samoan and Chamorro are recognized by Samoa and Guam, respectively; Carolinian and Chamorro are recognized by the Northern Mariana Islands; Spanish is an official language of Puerto Rico. While neither has an official language, New Mexico has laws providing for the use of both English and Spanish, as Louisiana does for English and French.[143]

P.S. Miami may be one of the largest cities, but it is still just one city located in one small state. There are 49 other states. Miami is just a small speck when you compare it to the rest of the United States.
Cats' names are Miss Jiff, Squeaky, Bob, and Bib Kitty. nm

U R confusing official definition of professional with "popular" definition...sm

the official definition is those jobs like physicians, PA's, NP's, law, etc. Not something you do for a long time or what your job is. The popular definition for profession is what you do. Same thing with vocation, a official definition would hold to calling, such as clergy or nuns or missionaries... popular would say what's your job. So depends if you are looking for the popular definitions vs. the official definitions, though I will say some very ignorant people posting on the topic...

Update on Tom kitty - we brought him home Saturday and he is back to his playful self today. SM

I brought him home from the vet on Saturday.  He was still running a temperature, but it was much lower - 103.  It had been 106 when we took him to the vet.  He was still lethargic, but had started to groom himself.  I have antibiotics I have to give him twice a day, by Sunday afternoon he was becoming playful again and was drinking a lot more and started to eat more.  Today, he is back to his old self.  Attacking my PC wires and walking on my keyboard, trying to get my fingers when I type.

I am so relieved!

I have a lhasapoo. He is MY baby of 8 years!!

My little one is So used to his routine! If I am in the middle of a long report I don't want to stop and walk our mile, we wait and he licks my legs, but for now he is pacified in the window seat looking at the world.

Try dogfriendly.com they list hotels, parks. its a friendly site! Also just Google petfriendly and you will get many choices:}
One of my dogs..

also coughed and hacked and made all sorts of snorting noises after drinking water.  She, also, did not actually vomit.  I have her on Benadryl twice a day and that has seemed to cut down on these "attacks" after drinking water.  She is also a rescue dog, is about 10 years old (as far as we can tell), and is a Lhasa Apso.  She is healthy and happy so I do not worry about the coughing/hacking spells.

BTW, as far as rescue animals, I believe they are the BEST.  The two dogs and one cat that I have right now are all rescues.  It is as if they know what their fate was and every day they are appreciative to you for sparing them and giving them a loving home.

You will be rewarded for your kindness!

Dogs
Each dog has a personality just like each human. There are some that are inherently nasty, such as pitbulls they are bred to kill. Sorry plain truth, does that mean that all pitbulls are bad NO! But a pitbull bites and holds, they don't and won't release until they darn well please. I have had my share of them when I was on the police dept. One was locked onto a lab and we couldn't pry him off with nightsticks in his mouth. While waiting for a tazer with guns at his head I remembered an old cure and had someone get vinegar and throw it in his eyes. Released in nothing flat and his owner was then able to control him. But had to break his concentration. You have to look into breeds, they are bred for a specific purpose and that is a trait that is in them. I prefer German Shepherds, I have 3 wimps one over 100 pounds. But he by nature heards my kids when he is uncomfortable with what they are doing. You can make a dog mean for certain, but some dogs can't be made nice either kind of like serial killers something in the genes.
You know NOTHING about me or my dogs.
I bet my dogs have more manners than you AND your dogs have.
Your dogs are probably

Shock collars are cruel. I feel sorry for your dogs.

Yapping Dogs
I had the same problem with my neighbor, only there were three of them, barking LOUDLY all day long, every day (they put the dogs out at 5:30 am every day).

I was so frustrated with their lack of concern even after all the neighbors called the police that one morning I went out and sprayed the dogs with my hose. The hose was not forceful enough to hurt them, it just shut them up. One day the owner (male) screamed at me that the dogs were wet and he called me a few choice names, so I got him with the hose too. I told him every time he put the dogs out I would squirt them and I would squirt him too. Luckily my husband taped the dogs several mornings in a row just in case we had to get the police involved.
