Yes, I have been a Transcriptionist for 20+ years and when people ask me I tell them NO!! Do not get into this...unfortunately you have jointed this "profession" at its lowest point. Just a few years ago we were considered an important part of the HIM team...now we are considered antiquated and out of date - like the IBM electric typewriters!!! Ten years ago the starting rate for working at home was 10-11 cpl!!!! But alas those days are long gone, too. I don't think there is any one thing that has caused this decline, but a number of factors. Sorry you are unhappy..this job used to be challening, exciting, and even fun! Plus you could make a living...but alas, never more!!!!
