Well, I can understand your great pleasure in this profession since you got to stay in-house.  I agree totally with you that if you can work in a hospital setting, it is much, much more rewarding and interesting.  But some of us didn't have that choice.  We started out in a hospital setting and were outsourced.  Sounds like this young lady did start working at home, which may be necessary for her...

I don't regret becoming an MT, I regret what has happened to this wonderful profession.  I hope and pray that if you have been fortunate to work in-house for 25 years this continues for you...but I wouldn't count on it!!!

I vehemently disagree. Never in my 25 years
in this profession have I had one regret. I have made so many very strong lifelong friendships with colleagues, as well as with doctors and nurses -- but that was because the majority of my MT years were spent working in a hospital and/or many physicians' offices. Additionally, the fact that I enjoy the company of SMART people made my experience so pleasurable. I've found this scenario to be true with other MTs who have worked in-house, rather than from home.
I think what you are feeling is to be expected when you begin, continue, and eventually retire when all those years were spent working from home alone (alone being the keyword).
