Thank you

for posting this.  I cannot tell you how many times I have been told "I can do that because I worked here or there in the medical field" or "I have taken this class or that class".  I have had several people ask me in the past year about how to become a Transcriptionist because they want to work at home.  One of my husband's friends told his girlfriend that my job was "no biggie", I just sit and type all day and she could certainly do it because she is fast at typing.  Let me tell you I quickly set him straight!!  I had the benefit of knowing very well what I was getting into before I started transcribing.  My mother has been a transcriptionist for 20+ years and her ex-mother-in-law was a transcriptionist also.  I knew I would be getting Dr. Eat Chips While I Dictate and I Don't Know What I'm Doing, Nurse Practitioner.  Others don't realize that this is the type of job in which you either "have it" or you don't.  I think what we do takes a lot of talent.

Anyway, I enjoyed the post and agree completely.
