In Reply to: Vacation Pay - MTINOH

I'm still trying to decide what to do. I am usually not one to "job hop." However, a situation has come up where I feel that I've been taken advantage of with this company, and I really just want out ASAP. I feel that my time and my skills are worth more than they are willing to pay, and I'm sick and tired of being switched around on accounts each time I start to become proficient enough on my account to make some decent money. If they are not going to encourage employees and allow us to make a decent wage, I'm not willing to sacrifice my time with my family to keep learning new accounts just because I'm a "loyal, hard-working" employee. Enough is enough, but I don't want to leave this pay on the table either, as I really feel I have earned it.

So...I'd really like to find out if I need to "use" the time so I don't "lose" it when I resign. But, how do I go about asking the HR Department this without raising the suspicion that I'm leaving. I've scoured my employee manual, and the only thing I saw related to this was that they do not allow you to accrue sick/personal/vacation time into the next year. Thanks again for all the input.
