Virginia is taking 4000--- some are staying at the Mariot
Nice digs. They are also putting them in camps by the lake.

I know it is nice, but think of what it is like to not have a home.

I would not want to be like this, but it could happen to any of us.
I have found taking them to a high rise for the elderly (sm)
and leaving them in the lobby for people to enjoy is a great way to make both you and some senior citizens feel pretty good.
Thank you for taking the time....

to share such good tips with all of us.

Thank you for taking the time to do that!
That is hilarious. These girls go into so much detail in their posts. I could read their stuff all night instead of watching TV. I don't know how they make this stuff up. This is great!
thanks for taking the time
For these tips.  I really need to buckle down and get my lines up, there IS money to be made but being at home and having the pain makes me slack lately.    But if you're doing as much as you are, then it makes me think its possible. Thanks again!  have a good night
I appreciate you taking the time here
I do know that not everyone involved with the church is a hypocrite, and that according to the faith all of us are sinners (I try to bear that in mind through my struggle in learning and understanding the religion). I just feel like for many people church is nothing more than a social event on their calendar, not to be thought of throughout the rest of the week. I believe that it would be more in line with Christianity to focus on God and what he does/would want all the time, and that not going to church does not disqualify one from being a Christian. Not saying it is not good to go to church either, just that you don't have to attend to be a true Christian.

Thanks again, I do appreciate insight from those who share it.

I am taking for second time in the last year
I took if for a while and was without insurance so had to stop for a bit. I am taking it again. I was previously on Paxil. My doctor said that Lexapro had way better withdrawal than Paxil. Paxil would "wig me out" if I missed a day. Lexapro has never done that and when I weaned myself off before I did not notice any major withdrawal symptoms. I also did not gain any significant weight and I am not skinny so believe me I did not want to gain any, lol. We are all different though, but that is my experience. Like I said, Paxil was way way worse on both.
Thanks all for taking the time to provide

a kind word and encouragement.  I know there are others much worse off and I know too I'll get through this.  This time of year has always been tough for me since my parents died and I've really been working on putting on a happy face for my family despite how I feel, but just couldn't do it today.

Thank you so much...I got it working now! I appreciate your taking the time to help out. nm

Again, thank you so much for taking the time to respond..sm
I thought I was on the right track, but I've only been an IC for five years and have never had my own accounts. I passed on your opinions to my MIL and hope she will listen. I'm leaving to go to California in a couple hours and there is no way I can do it personally, so I hope and pray she does. We really need the account.
Thank you ladies for taking the time to (sm)
respond with some very helpful information.  Can I ask one more question?  I notice in some reports there are {} marks after headings.  While this may be inherent to this hospital, I wonder if there is a "jump code" to get to each of those marks.  Thanks again.  BV
Thank you for taking time to answer nm
thanks
I so appreciate your taking the time to inform me of this.
:) I'd be lost without this forum. :)
Thank you for taking the time to post back....sm
I'm sure he must be depressed, and my brother also. I'll bring up the subject to him and see if I can make him see that they are really needing some outside help here, more than we can do just as family members.  You bring up a lot of good points.  Thanks again.
Thank you Patty for taking the time to answer.

That is good advice, but I don't know if I can give them 30 days notice because another 30 days of them and I'll end up in a padded cell.  I'm thinking more like two weeks, which to me seems fair, especially considering if they found someone else to do the work for less, they wouldn't even give me a day's notice, right?

Thanks again!

Taking time off without the worries is great

I think too many times IC's are treated like employees.  The OP is an IC and has a set schedule?   If you have a set schedule (no freedom), you should be deemed an employee and given PTO days, etc.  IC's should not be made to let anyone know anything.    Two weeks is an extended amount of time and out of courtesy she should let her "client" even if that is an MTSO know in advance that she will not be available to work those two weeks.  As for toting a laptop on vacation, not me!  The whole idea of a vacation is to relax and not have to worry about typing.  Most physicians do understand that you need a vacation.  They will cut you some slack.  Not sure about a two week period though.  Someone with their own accounts that wants to take off extended periods of time (more than one week) should probably find someone to "cover".    I have also found in this profession that transcriptionists do not trust others as they could try to steal their accounts if they were to take time off leaving the account in someone else's hands literally.  All the more reason to network and find someone trustworthy who will scratch your back and you in turn scratch their back when needed.  Tit for TAT so to speak but at a fair price.

TERRIFIC POST!!.....thanks for taking the time

Many thanks for all the suggestions! Sure appreciate you taking time to answer. nm

Thanks for taking the time to respond nicely...sm
and to give me the good info. There are so many sour people on this board who it seems don't care about helping any fellow MTs.
Very good ideas! Thanks for taking the time to share.

Bless your heart for taking the time to answer.
I was thinking macros were something else. I make heavy use of templates/normals, but I didn't realize those were called macros :0)

Shorthand is so fantastic for that. I love the suggestion window, too. I don't think I could type without it now.

Do you use the TCL script program? I need to study up on that.
TAKING A POLL-PUNCH TIME CLOCK

opinion question regarding taking substantial time off

I am so burnt out that I am seriously contemplating just taking the summer off.  Does anyone have any opinions on how this would hurt me come fall and job searching.  I have a job at the present time working IC that I absolutely am not enjoying.  I have tried to give it some time but it has been since November and I have not fallen in love with the job yet.

I am wondering how will look on a resume in the fall to have a 3- or 4-month gap in my resume.  I have 8 years experience and I am sure I would have no trouble getting back in to it, perhaps with a refreshed attitude?  Has anyone done this, and how was the job search afterwards?

Thanks for any advice.

Keyboard Kelly - Many thanks for taking the time to answer all my questions.

I really do appreciate it.

I always found that if I took the time to research
a term or a phrase myself and put the 'leg work' into it, I'd remember it much better the next time the phrase came up. The research might be time consuming but is an excellent study tool as well.

I suspect a lot of MTs on the board are cheating themselves by just letting others 'feed' them the answers.

nevermind. I found it, I thought the date/time
button was for actual date and time, not the settings of the footpedal to rewind, play and fastforward. The achives of MTstars helped me figure that out!
I agree with the other posters that I found them to be a waste of time ...
I sent them a resume with over 20 years of acute care experience and they didn't even extend me the professional courtesy of acknowledging that they received it.

The archives yield posts by other MTs stating more disappointment with them after making contact than favorable results.
It's the first time i ran through your site and I found it very informative and interesting. Nice
I really appreciate what you're doing here. Very interesting site. when Table Steal Table Expect , when Opponents Expect Cards Give Good, Greedy, Central nothing comparative to Faithful , Table can Loose Stake Industrious Boy is always Faithful Girl
Amen! Amen! Amen. You have helped me this day, by taking out time to write such a post!
May God bless you tremendously.
I found out a long time ago that there are two kinds of editing.. one is editing MTs work (like QA)
and the other is editing as in VR. I have done VR editing, but when I put down this as experience on a resume, I was asked by the HR person if this meant that I had "edited" other MTs work. I think there is a lot of confusion out there and I wish they would just keep that as QA instead of calling it editing. Just be clear in what you want to edit as most companies that expect you to "edit" other MTs in a QA position do require you have a lot of experience. If you just going for VR editing, which is what Transcend has available and there are a few companies out there doing VR, none of which I think really require much experience as it is easy to learn. Hope I made some sense and it can be pretty confusing on how companies use the term "editing" thus it effects their expectations as far as experience goes.
Oh, I found it really creepy when you said you found the flowers not so skillfully arranged on your
steps, and from your own flower bed.  That's what I was worried about, having gone thru some psycho kids myself with my pups.  Someone's been in your yard and in your garden and at your door without your knowledge.  Its just creepy to me, and I'd still be very, very careful.  Especially valid sounded the other MTs warning you about potential fake molestation charges.  You just NEVER know nowadays, and these people have already turned on you big time once. Luckily (though I don't believe in luck), you had it on film to save yourself and your puppy.  You might not be that lucky next time, and the whole thing just sounds very unstable to me right now.  I know you feel sorry for the little girl, but probably the only time I have ever made BAD decisions regarding my life is when I felt sorry for someone, particularly kids.  My son even has an evil kid in his life, but one who has a million reasons for sympathy, and I was saying how we should "be bigger" than the situation and invite this kid over to play.  Thankfully, I regained my sanity long enough to remember - ever time I have done something like that on a personal basis for someone just because I feel sorry for them AFTER horrible behavior, it has always been a disaster... Be kind, but you don't have to risk your family again. Be kind from a distance.  Its sorry she went thru this horrible experience, but YOU didn't cause it, and its not really your problem.  But it could be your problem if this kid acts out in your life.  Know what I mean?
$4000
I think it is very possible. My goal is $1200 a week and if there is work available I generally make it. I do work about 3 hours sat. and 3 hours on sunday. I work for a small company and make 11 cents a line.
Ergonomic 4000
I bought one this weekend, as a matter of fact. I wasn't a fan of the so-called multimedia/internet keyboards before, but I have to say I do like these shortcut button thingies. Circuit City has a web-only sale on it and it qualifies for free shipping I believe.
Microsoft 4000
.
$3800-4000
Gross, employee status, 40 hours.  I also make another $500 or so a month with a small account as a subcontractor (between 5 and 10 hours a week)
4000 keyboard
Do you still have this? I would be interested.
I have Microsoft 4000 too...sm
I've had mine for about a month now.  It took some getting used to, but I love it.  I've had several ergonomic split keyboards in the past, but this one is just more comfortable for me... not sure why!  I got mine at Office Depot on sale with rebate for around $25.  BTW, My husband also got one at BestBuy; they honored the Office Depot sale price with no rebate to send in.
Same Here; Microsoft 4000
I LOVE it and don't know what I'd do without it.  Best thing I bought for work.  It took me about a week to get used to it and my speed back up to normal.  It sure was worth it, though!
microsoft 4000 Yes!

I use the Microsoft 4000 and it is the only keyboard that I don't have pain with.  My wrist pain was so bad that I thought I would have to give this line of work up.  I have tried many many keyboards including Goldtouch, the other microsoft ergonomics (2000 and Elite), Belkin, Typematrix, Logitech split, Kensington comfort type, etc. ergonomic this and ergonomic that.  Wasted a lot of money looking for the right one.  But the the Microsoft 4000 was the one.   No more pain.

The one thing that I do is use a mouse bridge over the number pad to bring the mouse in closer and I also got an ergonomic mouse.  The investment was well worth it because it increased my comfort.

I got 2 of the MS4000 keyboards on ebay for about 12 bucks with 10 bucks shipping.  It was worth 25 dollars.  If you are willing to buy from there you don't need to pay 50 dollars and can probably get with shipping under 25 or so.  Good luck.

Microsoft 4000
By jobs, do you mean reports or the whole enchilada? If it's the latter, that's horrible!!! I tried to explain to a former boss when I was having this problem with my keyboard, and she seemed to think I was making it up, but she didn't fire me. I even had access to another identical keyboard and found it had the same fits. That's just awful! You have no control over when it happens. Wonder if Microsoft is aware of this little problem?
question about MS 4000
It looks as though this has one of those wrist resting spots. Is it a problem to use without resting them there (I like to keep them up)? I am looking for a new keyboard but they all look scary! :)

Any further details appreciated.
Microsoft Natural 4000
I tried the new Microsoft Natural ergo and actually perform my old (Elite) model. I do 400 lph and did not feel that the Microsoft Natural 400 felt nearly fast enough on the demo.
Only 4000 entries? hmm, I have 14,000 and use about 8000/day
guess I just don't know what I'm doing wrong with my acute care job. A good day to me is 1700 lines. My average day is 1300.

Yes, DOS was the ideal setting for production. Your "what planet are you on" comment made me think about several Pink Floyd songs!
4000 Ergonomic Keyboard
I just purchased and using the Microsoft 4000 ergonomic keyboard and love it.  It took a couple of days to get used to the keys.  I have used other ergonomic keyboards, but this one is the best.
4000-5000 I can't believe I'm getting sucked into this again. SM

This is gross pay with two different places. It is not full time. Yes, I use expanders, no, I don't do the same two doctors every day.

Yes, I am very lucky. Yes, I am very fast. No, I am not lying, and I am sorry if you are not in as good a position as mine.

Microsoft 4000 ergonomic one...
Wonderful keyboard! I give it a 9/10.
