of being an IC. I used to work for a company that had HIPAA training, we'd be tied up for an hour usually on these conference calls, they would pay us. Now maybe since it was "training" they had to, and with your meeting it does not meet whatever qualification for pay. But if it is a mandatory meeting, then they should have to pay you something. If elective then it should be as you suggest, a sound file, or video , that you can download from their website at your leisure.
