And this is my opinion. Just because you don't chain him to a tree doesn't make you a great pet owner. Just because someone treats their dog worse than yours, does not make you that much better of a good pet owner. You talk about him being happy. Even the chained dog acts happy when someone plays with him, pets him or feeds him. That doesn't mean he has a good home. Do you think you dog is happy when he gets reprimanded for lifting his leg? You said you would never give him away, but dollar to a donut, if this behavior continues, he will be gone in no time. I am sure you will give him to a home that you think is appropriate, but you have no idea where he will end up if this behavior continues. You don't want a peeing dog in your house, why do you think anyone would? You will give a "friend" this dog, knowing what will be sure to happen? It amazes the people that think they are "good" pet owners. Think of the dog, not yourself.
