Needed this big-time today...thank you! :)

Thanks so much for the laugh ~ I needed it today! (nm)

I searched by patient name today as I needed
to find a medication that the patient was on. So I searched patient name and pulled up the H&P for the visit to check what medications had been listed on admission to help me figure it out. Great feature.
Bwahahahaha! Coffee spew! Thanks, I needed that laugh today! :) nm

Update..bought computer today and Dell and found out it couldnt get here as fast as I needed it so I
Got the same computer for like $400 less and they'll ship it out tomorrow. Should be here in 4 days..Same everything including warranty. Try Ebay.!!!
I had a funny one today!

He gave the date and then said, "Oh and by the way it's my big day today.  #50!  Lucky me!"  Then he said, "Oh and, by the way, you don't need to include that in this report."  He laughed.  Like I was going to.  It's nice to get a funny once in a while.

I've never had a problem with a dictator saying, "transcriptionist, typist, operator, etc"  They don't understand how the phone system works and that I'm 3000 miles away and not the the Transcriptionist that they used to know by name that worked in the office every day.  They probably feel the same way I do when I get a good dictator that I really like and the dictator says, "Good Morning!" and you can''t say good morning back because they are just a voice out there somewhere.

my funny today was ...sm
editscript came up with antacid penis for ..... get this, Mirtazapine!! lol!!
Funny you should ask this today!. .
I just got back from an interview at the hospital I quit 3 years ago. I only worked there for a 6 months and had to leave due to medical problems. I swore that I would never go back there. I decided working at home wasn't for me and went in to talk to my old boss one day. I am not a very bold person and had never kept in touch with anyone from my department, so it was really hard for me to walk in there and tell them I was available to come back to work. They weren't even hiring! It literally took me several weeks to get up the courage. They re-hired me without any hesitation. They are even letting me work part time, which is something they normally don't do. I figured that it doesn't hurt to ask. The worse they could do is say no. They actually seemed more excited about it than I was. They said they were happy with the work I did while I worked there, and they would love to have me back, which shocked me! You never know what could happen. Good luck to you!
Today's funny typo! - sm
Time to call it a day!  The doc dictated that the patient was interviewed 'through a Spanish interpreter'.... which through my tired fingers came out - 'through a SPINACH interpreter' !
Aren't you funny today?
Fully vested means they've reached the required number of years of service with the company to receive 100% of the profit sharing, retirement, or whatever. Until that point is reaching, employees usually only receive a percentage based on the number of years they've worked until fully vested.
Today's funny typo! - sm

Good thing I proofread!  Otherwise, the report I just finished would've gone through saying,  "There is snotty anterior cervical lymphadenopathy."

The mental picture I got was of some lumps on the patient's neck which had human faces, all of which had upturned noses and haughty, snobbish expressions!

I think this job is starting to get to me ----------------

Here's a funny typo for you. I saw this at work today on a chart.

funny, I just saw this today at the health food store..
Schiff "Knock-Out" (which is Melatonin with Theanine and Valerian -- )

I cannot personally advise but it sounds natural and tempting...

Perimenopause has been playing havoc with my hormones and I do a lot of investigation on natural remedies.

Hope you find something - sleep is so wonderul. I heard suzanne somers say she put herself to bed at 9 p.m. for a year during her changes.
HELP with Shorthand. Suddenly today when I tried to start work today.sm

my ShortHand would type only the first letter of an expansion and then take all the letters away!  I checked and the Type It button is grayed out!  I have restarted the computer and looked on the Shorthand Help menu but can find nothing that applies.  Can anyone please help me ASAP?  I am lost without it!  TIA

Perhaps you are right. This one is dated today. The original article was on Yahoo today also with

But this article states it would only affect new customers right now.  So I am upset over nothing.  I went through heck with BellSouth when they charged me a surcharge of an extra 50 a month and then would write a letter saying I had to switch to a long distance service and pay by the minute because of my "excessive" use. They told me the unlimited charge was for an average of an hour a day not somebody who worked out of their home and I needed to switch a business plan at over 200 a month charge.  I switched over to cable because of that and then to read that cable was going to charging on a per use fee and not a flat monthly fee it upset me.  It is the nature of our work, VR, only paying for VBC, having headers and footers taken away, now being charged for being on line, etc.  It just seems that everything is done to keep to insure less money.

You're funny. Ignorant, but funny.
I don't live in NYC and I don't work out of NYC and I make wayyyyy more than $23 an hour, SandyGIRL.

I'm an employee at the largest national and I make anywhere from $58K to $64K a year.

You don't have to believe anyone but you show your ignorance by telling those of us who make that money that we're full of it.

Hahaha
Sorry, that was not an ASR funny, just a regular ole dictation funny. LOL! nm
.
Blasted cold out today. It was 104 degrees last week, but it's 40 degrees today with rain.
However, I do like cozy days like today when I don't have to go anywhere.  I'm done working, the house is clean, there's chili on the stove for dinner already, and I'm just putzing around.  I think I'll go bake some jalapeno cheese bread to go with the chili.
What a funny, funny reply. LOL
You are a genius! I am sorry you are ugly and fat. I feel bad for you, but what I can I do to help? Go to a plastic surgeon.
now that's funny, true, but very funny
Anal Association of Medical Treachery.
Ah yes! Me too, and I needed it!

EMR's -- we will still be needed

I work at a clinic part-time typing into EMR's as well as running my own company.  But now they are loading Stedman's spell check and work expanders onto Word so that I can type in word and then transfer the info over to the electronic chart.  I type faster in word.  They found that it is faster for the doc to dictate rather than type into the chart and not only that, insurances were questioning the "standardization" of the chart notes.   Too similar.  So I do make sure that even though I use expanders, and macros, I do make some minor changes to "standard exams" so it does not all look the same, but this is with the approval of the docs.  But they can see at least 4-6 additonal patients and dictate all the notes rather than type then and are able go home at 5 o'clock instead of 7.   Also the TAT is 48 hours and not weeks as the docs would never finish the notes.   So we will still be here just typing under a different format.

Thanks, I needed that!
:)
No, what for? Never needed it. nm
nm
thanks, but not what I needed to know
Gee, thanks for all that information. I am well aware that I could send an email, and I am well aware of how to crunch the numbers in terms of rate of pay. I was just hoping to hear from someone who already works for the company. Thanks anyway.
Thanks.. that's what I needed to know
Wasn't sure if it was something routine on every sale or if it was that the buyer backed out. I'll just let it stay there and see if I get payment! I'm hoping to get the hang of listing stuff on ebay, but it took me 2 hours to list that one item!  LOL...
yes MTs will always be needed...nm
x
Thanks, Jay. That's just what I needed to know. nm

I needed to know this. Thank you! (nm)
(nm)
Thanks. That is what I needed.

Sorry if that's not what you needed. sm
I reread your post. I tried to find specifics about the profile tests and couldn't find anything either.
Thanks, I needed this
I want to thank you for this post. I was feeling really down about my job with voice recognition and I know I am not out there by myself, but I really needed a good laugh about being a psychic transcriptionist. LOL.
Thanks, just want I needed to know

Because I will probably get a Dell laptop pretty soon.

Thanks again for the help

Thanks, I needed that, too.

was needed. (got cut off).
``
Thanks! I needed that.

It was much good of yous to care!  Thank you so much for pointing that out.

I don't spellcheck or audit what I type for postings on the internet.  Maybe I should?  After all, I am posting this for myself, not my employer, but you are right, I should care enough.

I think the MTs that Crabby was talking about in her post ought to care too.  I am burnt out from working 14 hours a day to make up for the $$ that I am not making because we all haven't had a raise since 1988 and I believe that MTs with poor skills are part of the reason why all MTs are not getting paid what they deserve.  Are we the only profession that has not had a cost of living raise in practically forever?

There is more needed

I have worked as an IC and employee.  For every some companies, you need WORD 2003.  I could not understand why 2007 would not work, but they swear that it would not work with eScription.  Some people told me that they spoke directly with eScription who said it would; needless to say, I had to purchase a very outdated copy from Amazon.com for about $200.  I was also told that it had to be the full version of WORD.  If you are working with eScription, I am sure that part is correct.

You will have to get a foot pedal, and I was told by last two companies that I was working for (simultaneously) that I had to have a 9-pin foot pedal with a USB adapter which is different somehow than USB alone.

If you are working from a C-Phone then you can rent this equipment from the company.  This would require the unlimited long distance.

Most require highspeed internet.

The other important thing to know is preparing for self-employment taxes.  That is the big one.

I had the hardest time finding good headphones (which you may already have) but finally found the best ever and VERY inexpensive at dictaionwarehouse .com. The salesman was great help and talked me into the less expensive set which was their best seller.  I had already planned on spending $200 for a good set and only spent $25. (Spectra-RA twin speaker headset).  They have these in digital w/USB, stereo, Dictaphone and many other types of connections.  I am now an employee for a specialty clinic and had to go back to tapes and needed mono-headphones, but I am sure the others would be great also and again VERY inexpensive, but the salesman will be honest and tell you for sure.  I just had to share this after the long drawn out hunt.

Orator Pro help needed!
While setting up a network connection for my laptop computer, I inadvertantly deleted a network connection that I THOUGHT was not being used. In the process of deleting the networked drive, I also deleted some folders for the Orator Pro phone-in system. Of course, the Bytescribe company is closed, which means there is no technical support for me right now, and my doctors are unable to phone in dictation until I can get the system back up and running. I have a system restore disk from Bytescribe, but I'm not sure how to use it and am afraid I will make things worse. The disk has Symantec's Ghost software, which gives you options for partitioning drives, etc. Is there anyone out there that has made the same mistake in the past or can help me use the system restore disk?

Thank you. I appareciate any help you can give me.

Follow up is needed.
I responded to a job this morning and at their request sent my resume and did not receive a reply until I saw another posting for the same job on this board. I just dont think this is good business.
It pointed out something that NEEDED to be said
The OP is BRAND NEW. She has no idea what is right or wrong. She just believes her way is right and QA is wrong, even "made up". Paddywhack is right. You follow the preferences of the account that provides your paycheck. If you get a different job, their preferences will probably be different. That doesn't make them wrong. It just means that those are the rules you have to follow to get the paycheck. It's not rocket science. It's common sense. The OP needs to get off her high horse and stop thinking she knows everything and start learning what her employer wants so she can KEEP getting that paycheck.
Mentor Needed
I'm currently a student needing some help and I don't what it usualy cost to get a mentor.  I have only five reports I need help with so you can just tell me how much you'll be willing to help me for.
Mentor Needed
I only have five reports to do. I'm a student and I don't know whats usually paid for mentoring so what ever you would feel comfortable helping me for.
More laughs needed
If you think this board is not boring then something is wrong with you! They were a riot!

Do you know how many people responded yesterday just cracking up at them. People were actually saying they have not laughed that hard in a long long time! This is what this board needs - more laughs and less griping!

Opinions needed
My son (18) works for a professional tree service.  He travels daily to the boss's house to load up and travel to the work site.  He's been doing this for a little over 2 months.  He goes on the clock to be paid (I didn't know this until yesterday) from the time they reach the destination where they work.  I just found this out and looked up the state's labor law concerning being paid for travel time.  I find that since he is required to meet at the boss's location to load up that his time for payment should start when he starts there and he should be paid for the travel time as well.  Okay, now we know this.  How would you handle this?  I know what I would do, but am looking for other opinions to share the whole picture with my son.  Thanks.
Luck isn't all that will be needed if going
What do you think, management posting again because they are so desperate for help???
Not needed - in my opinion

I have been told by attorneys and accountants it is  not needed.  The doc signs off on what he dictates and if he does not, I put in "Dictated but not read".  It is his responsibility not ours.   Been at this for over 25 years and never been questioned on if what I typed was what the doc dictated.

Thanks, I needed that Lori! LOL (nm)
;)
i needed that reminder too, thanks

Prayers are also needed
Hello: I will say a prayer for this precious little one. He is too young to suffer this way. I also need many prayers for a dear friend with Stage III ovarian cancer, who is undergoing chemotherapy and having a rough time, but has a loving family and is coming home today. It is not hopeless but need prayers.

I also need some prayers for my mother-in-law who is in the hospital with lymphoma and a severe blood infection. If anyone has some extra prayers please send them there way as they are lovely ladies and need a second chance. Thank you. Hope all of our prayers are answered.
Yes and ANYONE can do it, right? No training needed! nm
