YOU CAN DO IT!!

I have homeschooled my kids from Kindergarten and now my oldest is in 10th grade doing Algebra and Spanish. I use the A Beka program and I believe my kids are getting a great education. If you are dealing with learning disabilities of any type, I suggest contacting Christian Liberty. This is an educational company who has curriculum. They will help you test the child and help you evaluate and work with you to specialize the education your child needs. They use many A Beka books in their curriculum. I have a friend who has a dyslexic child and they worked with her great.

Also, the other thing that is an absolute necessity especially since you are already in the public school system, is that you get connected with Home School Legal Defense. You can join this organization for $85 a year, but they will be there for you in any legal difficulty without any further expense. I don't know what state you are from, but many states will give you all kinds of legal hassle and they will handle it all for you. DO NOT take the public school systems word that you have to do this or that when you pull your child out. They will have you jumping through all kinds of unnecessary "hoops", but the Home School Legal Defense will tell what you have to do legally and what not to do. Sometimes if you take these steps without correct info, it will limit their ability to deal with them. For instance, if you pull your child out of public school and then are contacted by the truancy people who come to your home and you give them permission to enter your home, that puts you in great jeoprady. What you should do is meet them at the door, deny them entrance and say your lawyer will contact them. If they handle the situation from the get-go, they have great success.

There is so much to tell you --I have accumulated 20 years of homeschool experience -- but if you need more info you can possily reply by email. If I can homeschool -- YOU CAN TOO!!
