My cousin @ 45 and her hubby @ 47 both did.  He had complications from the start with being very nauseated, minor bleeding but he went from 389 to 170!  He had 4 surgeries to remove and revise the excess skin.  Being very heavy since a child, he did have some emotional issues (wanting to party) dealing with his new life but now is doing fine.


My cuz went from 407 to 240.  She looks good to the waist but still unfortunately has our mothers side of the hips, legs issues.  She has been anemic since requiring transfusions ever so often.


Overall, it hs been a life saver for both of them.  She avoided a wheelchair because of degeneration in her ankles and he no longer has hypertension, high chol & trig's and diabetes, so again they have many more years now to parent their 5 kids!  Hope this helps.
