I agree with you. It is not your job to cut their notes for them. You get paid by the line I assume, and as such it would be like her asking you to clean her office when you drop off or pick up tapes. It is not part of your job.

Maybe she just wasn't thinking in those terms, since she is the "manager" and probably tells others what to do as part of her daily routine.

If it were me, I wouldn't do it at all because I hate tapes and I am not going to be driving to pick them up, print them out and deliver them. I'm sure you aren't getting paid enough to justify having to do even MORE.

Before I started working for a National Company, I picked up tapes every night from our local PT department, rushed home, transcribed, erased and delivered the blank tapes back the next morning. Even that was a pain. Tapes are unreliable after they have been used over and over....and there is always a chance of one getting lost or the tape coming out and ruining the dictation.
