Yup. That was me....

I must have acid finger tips or talons for nails 'cause every keyboard I have ever owned the letters have come off fairly quickly.

This Saitek though, the keys are black with white lettering so I keep a black Sharpie and color the black back in to leave what sort of resemble blobby white letters. Hey, this job cannot be any more boring and that has become my creative outlet in my life. So sad.

The first Saitek I owned was backlit blue, nothing like the one you and I have now, but still cool. After a few weeks the letters were coming off. I wrote to the company and within a week of their response, they sent me a new keyboard free of charge stating that letters rubbing off was not common. Well, same thing happened with the new one. I researched it on the 'net and sure enough, lots of people were complaining of the same thing. The quality of function never deteriorated, but it looks like some reject keyboard with the white blobs which sort of diminishes the cool factor by a few notches. The purple setting is awesome though!

For the geek-factor, check out the Optimus Maximus keyboard. Every key has a separate LED so they are individually lit. At over $1,500.00 each, I don't think many of us MTs will be owning one. Imagine one cup of spilled coffee and kiss it goodbye!
