I don't think 41 is too old at all.  yesterday I saw on the board that someone at age 43 was going to RN school.  She is doing transcripton now but is considering a change for various reasons.  I have always seen people in their 40s and 50s decide to go to nursing school, lpn or RN.  Go for it!  You have a lot of years ahead.
