Mass affect on brain or mass effect on brain?

Probably will have a mass exodus
Once the MLS' realize they are going to lose money doing VR.
Mass mailing

I usually do a mass mailing out to those clinics/solo docs/specialists with one to two in an office - usually 100 to 150 flyers, brochures.  Then if anyone calls or if there are offices I am interested in picking up or know do have companies do their dictation, I stop by with a dozen cookies --homemade and leave with a brochure.  Gotta get past the receptionist and sometimes that is the way to do it.  I try to go at times I know the offices are not the busiest, right before afternoon hours, right before lunch, etc.  I have gotten inquiries from perhaps 5 to 7% of my mailings, which they tell me is quite high and have picked up my last two accounts from mailings/call backs, etc.  They have all stayed with me.  I have not done a mailing in close to five to six years because I have had my accounts for so long.   But that is what I did.  I am thinking of getting my nephews and on a Saturday morning putting flyers underneath office doors in several medical buildings we have that are next to the hospitals here in Portland.   Also send out to orthodontists, psychologists, counselors, podiatrists, chiropractors, etc.  If you can do digital, then send flyers out to outlying smaller cities where no one delivers or picks up.   There are accounts out there just gotta dig for them sometimes.   But be willing to do it all, pick-up, deliver, printing, envelopes, copies, to get your foot in the door and then word of mouth works very well.   Good luck.

12 cents in mass.

could mass producers be using technology? (sm)
A friend once told me (a man, of course - haha) I should be using VR personally, for my own work at a national company.  I considered it, but did not have the time (or money) to invest; however, I have noticed a couple of posts on here regarding such.  Something about the dragon- dragone, not sure what it is called, but I do think there are individuals using the technology, as employees.  I mean, why not really...

If MTs are using it personally, if it were to catch on, couldn't that cut out the work force significantly?  What if companies supplied us with it, wow, we would just be editing all day long, how hard could that be?  Lines would be gobbled up.

Not that I am accusing this person of doing that, but if she is, it would definitely explain how there are people making huge bucks in the MT world.

Perhaps that is what it will come down to...weeding out about 1/2 of us  ??
Perhaps she gained muscle mass SM
You can change your body compostition drastically and not lose or gain much weight if you replace a lot of fat with muscle. She said her clothes fit better so I am assuming that is what happened.  Sounds like she is doing great to me!
No...not Mass....but QA is pretty lousy
this isn't the first time I've had trouble with them.
Sten-Tel Mass. - out of work?

Anyone else with Sten-tel on the ASP platform out of work or is it just me that is sitting here twiddling my thumbs?

Talk about weapons of mass destruction! nm

I got the email in a mass mailing that was done in error
Then one of the owners of the company tried to weasel out of it in a subsequent email.

It happened. I was there, and so were you. Shame on you for trying to mislead people once again!
Good analysis. Mass mutiny, new unsuspecting

Something to the effect of what a (sm)
great job we do, etc. It was really more the tone than the actual words that were said. Ever have someone speak to you with such animosity that it kind of gives you a chill? That's what this was like.

I'm probably just being too sensitive about it, but it was hateful.
The answer IS Effect....

How something WILL "affect" you;   this cough DID "effect" my lungs.  Sorry, but graduated high school in 1964 back when people really cared about grammar!!!

AFFECT means to have an influence ON; EFFECT is the change that occurs!!!

You see, effect is something that is brought about by a "cause", that is the affect part;  "The antibiotics were effective in treating the infections."    Hope this helps.  Also, it seems mostly in the medical field affect deals "mostly" with psychiatry and emotions.  It does however, most certainly, have a place in "normal usage".

affect v. effect
Effect is noun in the instance noted. Affect is a verb most of the time. Anything else?
Affect/effect
Affect can be a noun in psych - patient having a "flat affect" - no expression. Effect usually is used as an action word and in this case it is effecting a response or a cause.
effect or affect?

Here is a rule of thumb my boss taught me:

Affect - (a verb) "to change or alter".

Effect - ( a noun) "a result".

You will very rarely use "affect" in the context of a sentence, but it will come into play every once in a while.

WHEN is this supposed to go into effect?
I have not received letter.. Is this everyone or just employees or just IC ??? Specific info would be lovely
affect/effect

Affect can also be a noun, as in "patient's affect", effect can also be a verb as in "to effect a result".

your affect has an effect.
Does this person think that English usage doesn't matter in MT work?  Some of the worst medical errors got that way by misuse of plain English words.
Affect/Effect
Effect is not always a noun, and affect is not always a verb. When you "effect" a change, effect becomes a verb. When someone has a flat "affect," affect becomes a noun.
Yes, effect is correct.

Effect (bring about)

Affect vs. effect

Hopefully this will help, although I guess everything is subject to interpretation:

AFFECT is a verb meaning "to influence" or "to pretend or imitate".  EFFECT can be a noun OR a verb.  As a noun, it means "result".  As a verb it means "to produce a result".

In your particular sentence, it is being used as a verb...so which one to pick?

Without knowing the rest of the record, I would have to go with "effect" because I'm guessing (again..limited knowledge) that the doctor is indicating that if the bleeding doesn't stop, he has to do a hysterectomy.  If the hysterectomy has already been done, or it is planned, than surely, further bleeding could "affect" the planned surgery or something that happened during the hysterectomy.

Without more information, it's a crap shoot!... I'm sure that was as clear as mud.

affect/effect
To clarify affect/effect, here is what a friend said:(emphasizing the first syllable and pronouncing it with a "long E"):

"I affect the Effect"

This really helped me.
No, but have been rx'd Ritalin with good effect. (nm)

Probably said that way for dramatic effect , sounds - sm
much more dramatic to say "went missing" as opposed to "has been missing".
I would worry more about the side effect
A man taking that killed himself and beat his wife up.  My brother took it and got deeply depressed.  He said he quit taking it.  He also quit smoking off of it faster than on it.  Thank goodness for him because he smoked 3 packs of cigarettes a day.  I'd say try something else and leave Chantix alone.
Affect is a verb, Effect is a noun, DUH

Thanks for all your help. I did find it but can't get it to take effect after hitting apply so w
with it.  If I remember I put my headphones behind my ears as well.  I just don't always remember.  But thanks again!!
I don't get the parentheses - supposed to be like an echo effect?

Caffeine and sugar had negative effect

My experience with trying to remain alert during 3rd shift:  I was trying to perk myself up with caffeine and sugar, but also found that I actually became MORE tired as a result.  Apparently, there's a biochemical explanation for this, due to the effect of caffeine and sugar on my insulin/blood sugar response.  Both caffeine and sugar cause an initial rise in blood sugar, but then a serious slump in blood sugar occurs, causing me to be even more tired than before.  So, I gave up the coffee and, after 3 days of withdrawal symptoms with horrendous headaches and fatigue, am having much more success staying awake during 3rd shift.  I have also found that a protein drink or snack is a much better solution.  Also, I am told that there are stimulants that do not affect the central nervous system as caffeine does, such as guarana, which I have not tried yet.

Also, it took me at least six weeks to adjust my body clock.  I figured out that I had to sleep at the same time every day for several hours, at least 7, and couldn't just take a few naps during the day and then expect to stay awake at night.

The only reason I choose to work at night is because the pay is better; otherwise, I wouldn't do it.  I look forward to someday having a decent account with a decent pay with a 24-hour turnaround time.  I realize this is a fantasy.

It may take a few days for the full effect of the anes to wear off
I know it's hard, but give it some time. Call your vet and ask questions, express your concern. If it doesn't get better (which I think it will) you may want to speak with a veterinary neurologist.

Hugs to you both!
Unfortunately, NO. Didn't help me. It made me depressed. Reverse effect. nm

I believe this is an unfortunate side-effect of cyber-space.
No one needs to look someone in the eye and be accountable face to face for their actions. Being "on-line" is anonymous for the most part and being rude and nasty to someone has no consequence for the hurt it causes someone else.
Affect is an Action (or psych state)..Effect is a rEaction

Please! This is called progress and it was in effect long before Obama came into office.
Try being a freethinker for once and stop following whatever someone else tells you based on supposed "facts."
Ugly, physically repulsive people with nasty attitudes have that effect on me.
