you can use apostrophes to emulate quotes.
Two apostrophes = one quotation mark

Like ''this.'' (4 apostrophes total, 2 in front and 2 behind word)

Just a little trick I figured out a long time ago for this board.
Sorry, but you are wrong....not familiar with usage of apostrophes?
It has to be written like this

colon cancer's point of view

to be the colon cancer's point of view. The doctor just made the sentence structure weird.

Regarding the colon cancer, the patient is doing well

would have been better.
