is our job really that bad?

Everybody keeps fussing about the money you can make and don't make - well, I make a very good income for what I do - I understand that I am still making the same amount of money per line that I made 13 years ago when I started this profession, but overall if you compare what we make to what other people make who are only required to do a 3-quarter course (if that much to do this job) then we are paid pretty darn good!!!

I average about $25-30 an hour if I sit down and work and if you add that up even at the low end it is 52,000 a year - an amount my mother just this year bypassed as a school teacher with a master's degree after 17 years!  Then you figure in that I don't drive anywhere, that I eat at home every meal (unless I choose to go out), that I have a flexible schedule...

Well in my opinion, we still have it pretty good!  What about the MOA that has to be at the doctor's office all day and just gets paid $9 an hour after 18 months to 2 years in school?  What about the LPN who just put in 18 months of school and is only getting paid $13-15 an hour?

I agree that we are not paid according to the costs of living and I agree that we don't make enough money - but we still have it GREAT compared to a lot of people who are as educated or more in their field as we are in ours!
