You have greatly encouraged me!  I have been transcribing for over 18 years now, 15 as the lead transcriptionist/supervisor of an in-house local mental health facility transcription department.  My department was terminated on 08/31/07, as they outsourced to a service, who I did not trust as far as what they were promising us.  I did not go onboard.  As a matter of fact, only one out of the four in-house transcriptionists went with the outsourcing service, and she is sorry she did.  In the meantime, I  have been applying for an at-home transcription position.  I am very discouraged, but as you said I will keep on trying.  I am going to buy AAMT material and study. 

Again, I would like to thank everyone on the forum who replied and tried to encourage me.  You guys are absolutely awesome, and I am glad I found this board!  Keep your fingers crossed for me.
