your points look good on paper, but don't mesh with the reality in the MT world. Certification does not bring more professionalism, maybe more high-headedness. Very few employers offer significant compensation for the trouble to get and stay certified. On the job supervision will weed out the nonprofessionals in short order. I've been at this over 30 yr and don't need the ini's after my name to be professional or validated. My day-to-day work validates the application of my knowledge.
