I was offered McAfee through Comcast and used it for years and didn't have any problems. It did an update a few months ago and it totally messed me up. The security was apparently too tight and I was unable to log into the system I use to transcribe. I had someone come look at my computer. We got rid of the McAfee and now I'm using Spyware Doctor. He recommended it because the security is not as "tight". There is a free version but I paid for a yearly subscription. I have had no problems with this so far. Knock on wood. The way he explained it to me, (keep in mind I am ignorant with computer issues)was that some of these security deals improve too much occasionally, depending on what system you using, making it too tight for you to get to what you need in order to do your job.
For all I know he could be wrong or I misunderstood. lol. I do know though, since getting rid of the other and using this, I have had no problems. Hope this makes sense. ;)
