That's a great idea.  Go for it!!!  I used to watch her when she was just a reporter for a TV station out of Baltimore.   She seemed to genuinely care about the issues discussed.

I've been thinking about this for a while too.  Some serious and some crazy ideas.  Forgive me please if any of these people are deceased or the shows aren't on anymore.  Been working 2 jobs, no time for TV.

1.  Face the Nation:  Offshoring with particular emphasis on military transcription and effect on economy overall.  Somone important in hot seat.

2.  Ted Koppel/Nightline and Larry King:  Two guests, one in favor of offshoring, one who is not.

3.  Ted Koppel/Nightline:  Offshoring military records.  Make guest squirm.

4.  Montel Williams:  People who have suffered serious adverse consequences due to mistakes in their medical record (especially if it was offshored).  Would call attention to our profession and problem of offshoring.  He has MS, doesn't he?  What if someone did his record improperly?  He might be interested in this.

5.  David Letterman:  Top Ten Reasons NOT to become an MT.  (what is an MT?--garner public awareness of our profession.  Might make people mad when they realize what is done to us affects them.)  Have a guest who can explain mistakes with a humorous slant (it is an entertainment show) but still wake up the public to mistakes in their record due to an MT not having English as primary language (generalized, no particular country) and/or the American MT having to work so fast to produce minimum lines in order to retain job and the potentially harmful consequences of it all.

6.  Jay Leno:  Medical Bloopers people can understand.

7.  Jerry Springer:  MQ employees versus MQ management.

8.  Court TV:  A good case where someone suffered serious consequences as a result of their record being incorrect.  This would be excellent exposure, as many professionals with clout watch Court TV for entertainment.  Even better if such record was offshored.  Bring in a lot of "experts" to discuss the case to give MTing more exposure.

8.  ER:  An episode where someone is improperly treated due to a mistake in their medical record and one of the favorite docs gets sued.  OR  An episode where the hospital is being sued because records are stuck overseas and they cannot get them back.  OR  The hospital MTs go on strike due to pay cuts, etc. and the docs can't get their transcription done, which throws the whole place into chaos.  OR something happens to their computers and no patients' records are not accessible because all they have is electronic record.  OR a hacker gets into their computers and changes medical records causing all kinds of trouble on every floor, especially the ER.

9.  Last but not least, and this is stretching it a bit -- One of the most-watched soap operas/afternoon dramas where a favorite character who is trying to support herself and her little children either trains for MT and can't get work or loses her job as an MT due to offshoring/VR and can't find work so she can take care of her kids, perhaps especially because one of them has a disability or she herself has a disability and must work from home????

Just thoughts.
