I am upset but I am getting over it. Lots have said maybe this is a "blessing in disguise". I will put in an application to be a 911 dispatcher, which I am assuming a machine or technology can never replace! :) I did it for a couple of years before moving and enjoyed it, but loved my IC status as a Transcriptionist more. Now that times have changed, I've gotta be a big girl and move on :)

Thanks for your post. Very insightful! Yes, the perception out there is that MT just takes good typing skills, but that isn't my fault. It is definitely mis-perceived by those of us unfamiliar with the industry!

I can very much relate to the 'panic'. In my industry a lot of worry-ers scream that our jobs are all being outsourced and we will all be unemployed in the next year or so. I guess every industry has those peeps!
