who knows what her intentions really are

the OP's husband in this affair! That would only lead to trouble for them that they do not need. Additionally, clearly this woman does not exactly have respect for marriage and/or morals so who knows what other trouble she is capable of causing. Bottom line is, this woman should not be calling the husband as it does not involve him AND the husband should tell this woman not to call him!

I mean this with the very best of intentions...sm
but I think what the above poster was referring to is that if your resume, cover letter, or e-mails are written like your posts, you may not be coming across well to people who make a living using proper grammar, sentence structure, etc.

I totally realize that when you are venting, you may be a little careless or use certain words and phrases for emphasis, but to someone who does not know you and has to evaluate what kind of MT you will be, it can be very misleading to read something that is a compilation of run-on and incomplete sentences.

The other thing I would suggest is what another poster said, you may need to work with the management to learn acute care. That is where most of the work is, and most companies will train new MTs on clinic notes with the assumption that they will move into other types of transcription. The most valuable employee in a company is the one that is the most versatile. Unfortunately, in this business, it may not mean you make more money, but it probably means you will have work when others do not.
It may have started with the best of intentions
But as time went on it became like most other "associations" and became about how much $$$$ they could make. I've been in this biz for a decade and never spent a dime to become a member because I never saw the benefit in spending that amount of $$$ just to get some memos, flyers and get invited to "workshops" (aka sales pitches).

When they changed their name, to me it signified that they no longer "represented" MTs in the industry, but rather became about representing just documentation procedures in the medical field, whether it’s being done by VR, foreign MTs, or one of us sitting at home trying to make a buck.

Personally, I think that stuff about unionizing was just a bit of propaganda to get people to join.
